I would just get in touch with them, Richard, because this will bug you until you do. Give them as much information as you can, for instance if you have a breakdown of your watch's daily performance.

My (limited) understanding of COSC spec is it is -4/+6 spd as an average daily deviation over the 15 day test period. A single day at -5 while the other days are at -2/-3 would therefore not put it out of COSC spec. As stated earlier, there are a number of factors that affect accuracy. Maybe the power reserve is a little low? Even so, it doesn't sound like it's out of spec.

You said there's no reason to believe it will not continue to drift further out of spec. I don't know how you can be sure about that?

In my experience, CW is always willing to take your watch back and investigate to see if anything is wrong. Like Steve said above, it sounds like this is going to continue to bother you unless you do something. My recommendation is to either have CW investigate, or move it on and buy a quartz watch.

Have you tried watch accuracy app? They “listen" to the movement and give an error. But the useful thing is that you can use this directionally to find a particular position they runs slow/fast in and then leave the watch in that position over night to correct any error.

I do that with my Omegas and it keeps then with 1 sec per day.

In my experience, the accuracy of a watch can vary dramatically if it's power reserve (PR) is not within a consistent range... so if you aren't wearing it overnight that's fine, but if the next day you wear it a little less than normal, the PR will get lower this will could cause inconsistent timekeeping it allowed to get too low (it may even stop)

I have my daily rotation watches all on winders, which keep the PR topped up and as a result, not only are they always "ready to go", but they remain consistently accurate. I had a C60 Elite GMT 1000, which maintained +1 sec/per day (but only when on the winder), same for my others. It won't fix a watch running out of COSC, but it will make it consistent

If it's always being kept at full (or almost full) wind, and still out of spec, then send it back for regulation, under warranty... my C1 Grand Malvern runs +15 sec/per day, way our of COSC spec, but it's consistent and I just haven't (yet) bothered to send it in for regulation, as I wear it much less frequently!

Hi. Thanks for the replies. I try to wear the watch every day all day and have also taken to winding it on a regular basis as I thought it might be the power reserve. Some days it will wind by hand, some days it feels fully wound already. I can't be sure that the trend will continue but I can't be sure that it won't. Over the past 9 days it has lost 43 seconds, so nearly 5 spd. It was averaging about half that a few weeks ago. That, to me, isn't losing a couple of seconds extra on the odd day. It is the lack of consistency that worries me the most. I will give it a few more days then contact customer service. If it wasn't a cosc watch I wouldn't be so bothered but it is bugging me. I would do it now before the Christmas season starts to kick in. You need to achieve some closure on this.

Make sure it has a gone through a couple of cycles of full wind and power down to nothing, while also wearing it…. That would mean perhaps winding fully on a Monday, wearing over a few days and then taking it off (e.g. for a weekend) and let it power down to nothing. If the watch is brand new, then it is covered by 60/60 and you can get it replaced. If second hand and under guarantee, CW should at least take it in and make it right.

My Sealander GMT was approx -20, initially, but now -4-6.
