It's a very nice watch and well done CWL. I am sure that the lessons learned in the development of this watch will show up in other lines going forward.

Agreed, the “teeth” that are on the inside of the ring are all but invisible. My thoughts are that maybe these should have been lumed too, although that might just break the simplicity of the ring.
Rich.

The markers are interesting. In the photos (see the cover of Loupe), they look quite obvious. However, in reality they are barely visible as has been said. I like that though. It doesn’t distract from the watch in the way that hard to read hands would be. If they had protruded even slightly from the lumed ring that might have worked. I’ve tried to photograph them. Not convincing results are below.

Great watch. I think CW missed on one detail though: it didn't use heat blued screws in the movement.

This question was asked and they mentioned they did try them, but they looked wrong when viewed from the front :problem:

C5 - FLE
C60 - Concept
C65 - Cranwell, Super Compressor

Heat blued nuts and bolts? Would that be easier than cutting threads into plates?

I've ordered my C60 Concept on the Titanium bracelet but have yet to receive it as, whilst my watch is at CW Towers, the bracelets are stuck in German Customs en route from Switzerland.

I hoping to have it by the end of the month.

Hey ho.

So it’s Hubbard’s Cupboard until this particular bone arrives? Thank goodness for your Breitling. :D

I love the way they still charge £10 for a bracelet resize when buying a watch for £3,725 (less voucher of course).

Unfortunately that £10 has just tipped it over the edge into the "can't afford" territory for me.

Actually, that could be a better idea than applied indices. The ring would look like an inside tooth gear.

Cutting threads into the plates isn't difficult. It's the equivalent to drilling a hole twice.

A problem with using nuts is that the movement's overall thickness would increase. The nuts could be recessed into the plates to maintain the overall thickness but that process is more difficult and expensive than cutting threads into the plates.

A general rule when designing any device, that has limited space, is to incorporate threads into the mating parts.

I thought that would be it to be honest. With the Concept being open both front and back, and the explanation given earlier, I thought that the problem related not to screw heads, but to the appearance of the screw tail so to speak, and was trying to imagine a way of presenting it better. is there another treatment that might work?

Wow. Bold attempt on this one. Not my cup of tea, but I definitely give credit for giving it a go.

A good review of a very unique watch. Better still that it’s not from one of the annoying types doing the watch review rounds. Liked his style a lot actually.
