What an idiot I am.
Finally pulled the pin and bought one after I missed out on the Apex and none turned up second hand.
Not for ordering but not using the discount code 🤦.
Sent them a begging email, does any one think they will accept by pleading!?
Yes because the voucher lasts till Christmas, and you could just return your watch and buy another (or a relation could by another for you, etc,)

They won't argue over the voucher and as JAFO said you could just return it and reorder using
the voucher :-)

I saw the Oris ProPilot X again recently. It's a nice watch but (on the Oris website) it's $7,600 US. It could be made by anyone, it has no brand identity. The only reason you know it's an Oris is because it says so on the dial. The Concept is a Christopher Ward and doesn't even need to say so on the dial.

I've never talked price with a Oris AD bit they go for about $2300 cheaper on the gray in the US. I wouldn't pay the retail for it.

This is, and this is a phrase slung around far too cheaply, absolutely stunning!

If I were to pick one hole, it’s that I don’t think the rear lives up to the face. Losing the rotor would slim it down and expose the movement as gloriously as the front.

Whether that’s worth the effort in hand cranking or not..?

Congratulations Rich, it's an outstanding watch for sure.

My only reservations, having a slim wrist, are the size both the L2L and height. How do you find that compared to other watches, what is your wrist size if you don't mind me asking?

Great photos!

For me, the bezel is too shiny and detracts from the main interesting feature of the watch. The rehaut also seems a bit deep, overall the case seems a bit too deep. Agree with the above about handwinding making the movement more visible, plus would have saved a mm or two.

Thanks Patrick, and not at all; I’m in the 6.25” to 6.5” spaghetti zone.

I think, thanks to the shorter lug-to-lug of the mk3, I just about get away with it on the strap. I’m not certain I would on the bracelet, and I felt the same way about the 43mm mk2. This carries a fair bit of bulk beneath its lug holes which helps to disguise its thickness on the wrist. Pictured below, side by side with a 38mm mk2 - the Concept head is actually 5g lighter!

In truth though, for this watch, I couldn’t give a flying one about size, it’s just too spectacular!

That looks fantastic! Congrats Rich - what a watch. I really wanted to see photos of it out of a studio and in the real world, so it's fabulous to finally see it under real light. I notice you didn't take a straight on photo while wearing it though - how much of your wrist is visible?

I think it's a superb watch. There are minor things on it I'd change, but the reality is that like this fantastic post:

I'd probably buy one regardless of any minor quibbles I have (and as I'm not buying I'll keep those to myself). Sadly other things over the last several months have rinsed my toy money fund so I can't be in the market for one (and I refuse to go the credit card route). I'll live it through you guys on here - please keep the photos coming!

Looks like you've made the right choice with the hybrid strap

For me, I wear my C60 Elite 1000 GMT on its bracelet all the time, and it's super comfortable. On that basis, I've ordered my Concept on the bracelet, as they are very close in terms of size. I do also have both other hybrids too, so may mix it up and see how it goes, but that's for next month... a whole month of waiting :( Still I wanted a particular serial number and given it's unique (and not inexpensive) nature, what's one month to wait

I would also have been happy with a hand wind, but I can see why they've done this and no problem with the decision.

Thanks again for sharing these photos, it's an absolute stunner, enjoy wearing it.... really lovely

Cheers, Gary

Love the fact that you'll be able to see the mainsprings wind and unwind... makes up for not having a power reserve indicator, which I'm not sure they could have incorporated anyway on a full skeleton like this (yes I know that Oris has one, but it retains a front frame I believe).
