I would think Peter would say that the raised hour indices on the dial work best with the raised and sunken details on the bezel. I just asked him, and Peter also thinks that the sandblasted bezel integrates much better with the rest of the case. He says that, to him, a smooth enameled bezel would work on a high-gloss case, but on the C6 case it looks like an afterthought.
peter's alter ego.
I guess you and I could go back and forth all day about what Peter would like, but I guess we'll never really know.
I had a chance to read through the whole forum discussion (to avoid any tunnel vision) and, I too don't like the bezel on the C6. This is more of a personal choice which I have said to CW on the phone. I do like Terminator's suggestions about an enamelled bezel? and yes, I whole-heartly agree it wouldn't make the watch unique but would/could make it common (in some people's eyes!) however, there must be sane reasons why people buy expensive watches with enamelled bezels?!
CW's drive is to "to put high quality watches within the reach of everyone" - this doesn't say anything about being "common". This is ultimately a business which needs to make money. Imagine if you will, CW making this watch - he could attract a certain client who when buying this watch would question why he/she has spent 10x more money on a Rolex when they could have bought something representing high quality/uniqueness/british-made/value for money. By doing this, CW attracts a wider audience which in the longer term increases the value of our investment in the watches which we have already bought (cyanical point of view but, a very realistic proposition).
perhaps Chris could do a limited edition with enamel bezel? maybe it would be a rolex look alike, but it would be an affordable alternative, and to me at least a CW is every bit as special as a rolex or omega etc, its just that I could afford one!!!!
so thats another ltd ediion, enamel bezel and automatic movement please!!
