I have a C4SSS, just had the battery changed at our local small clock/watch shop as i wanted to wear it over Christmas, and his words were this watch is mutton dressed as lamb the movement is rubbish it would be a waste of money sending it back for a service. Gutted is an understatement. Is he off his rocker?
If he digs 'clockwork', then anything quartz would be 'rubbish'. He's probably bitter because back in the day he saw himself working on sexy mechanical stuff for sexy mechanical money, but he's found himself changing batteries!

With regard to servicing a quartz, I'm probably with him. If it ain't broke...
