C3 MkII Charcoal Dial Colour

Post by gaf1958 »

Just received a C3 with charcoal dial. It's a very interesting colour. Yes it's basically a charcoal, but sometimes it looks quite light and is more like what I'd call grey. The interesting bit is that depending on the lighting it takes on either a purplish hue or a brownish tinge.

Gotta say I like it. It was purchased with the (likely) intention of giving the watch to one of the kids as a present, but having seen it in person, I'm now seriously considering keeping it for myself. :problem:

Maybe I do need another watch...

I have a C5 charcoal and find quite the same effects in the light. It lends an interesting look to the dial. 8)

......and of course you need another watch! :D

That reminds me - I have a C5 MkII sitting around for one of the kids (birthday). I might pull that out and compare the colour, as my impression was that the C5 dial was darker than the C3, but memory is a tricky thing! :?

I'm already so far behind with photos of my other acquisitions it's not funny, but I'll see what I can do :)

No bother ;)
No it just would be interesting to see them both together to compare the dials and colours.

Duh, I opened the box for the C5 and realised I'd bought her a MkI - I had bought MkIIs for two of my other kids!
So the dial is a very different colour to the C3 MkII :?
