Hopefully some depth here.
Ahh yes, that captures it perfectly. It’s what I suspected, but it wasn’t totally obvious from the pics. Thanks Rich!

True story time.
As I've already mentioned I watched the premiere and really waned to like the white dial but the cellphone snaps didn't sing out. Then it occurred to me that considering the dial size, the orange dial would be a huge statement and, so the man-logic goes, what better for a statement watch than a big bouncy bright dial? The future's bright, the futue's......?????

@tikkathree - I'm so glad you're getting an Orange statement watch. (Somehow whenever I type Orange my autospell adds a capital letter  ). You tried to get your head around the Bel Canto for a long time and then moved instantly on this one. It's a good sign this watch is for you

(Really looking forward to seeing pics when it arrives)

Great to see a few more in the orange camp!
Does this forum have a polling feature?

Yes. I’d suggest starting a new thread if you want a poll, though.

Yep.

If you want to create a poll in a new topic that you create…

Go to the sub forum. In this case “general discussion”.

Select new topic.

Within new topic, you will see an option within a tab to create a poll.

This is from viewing the forum direct, rather than via tapatalk.

After some initial doubts, I’m in the “wow” camp now.

I’m not in a rush to spend $5k again on any watch, but as a value proposition – open balance, and a ridiculous 6-day PR, this watch from a so-called “fancy watch maker” would cost you at minimum $15000, probably $20000 and beyond.

I’m particularly liking the Blue on strap. It highlights the watch head better than on bracelet IMO, and as a “high horology sports watch” it’s really impressive and to my eyes, a real winner of a design. This website shot captures the essence perfectly to me.

I haven’t been afraid to “go in” on CW more than once, but when they get it right, they really do get it right. I may still go Bel Canto for that “special and interesting piece”, but this watch as it sits is an extremely impressive achievement by CW and they deserve huge respect and admiration for the guts, the vision, and indeed, the restraint in pricing. If this was a grand more, I honestly don’t think you could bat an eye. It is what it is. Inflation is a thing, and as someone who works in supply chain, those challenges are not easy to navigate.

A full standing applause from me.

I really enjoyed watching the video last night - was quite entertaining and well done and I was especially interested in the build by manual part as my 15 year old son has a keen interest in horology and perhaps considering a career in it. If only somewhere would help with some hands on work experience

As for the watch.... My suspicions were confirmed and as this uses the 12 foundations it is not for me. Doesn't stop me loving what CW have done here though. And interestingly, it has reignited my fire for a Nero BC which (in line with Asqwerths thinking in an earlier post) I think is the better looking of the two.

For everyone who gets one, enjoy it!

Take a look at the British Watch and Clock Makers website for apprenticeships?

No worries. I avoided the word 'Architecture' as that was the buzz word on the video Image

Thanks Guy, much appreciated. I already tried them and had an email convo with a very helpful lady but as my son is 15 and looking for work experience, the apprenticeship route is a little way off. I had a lovely chat with Craig Struthers (independent watch maker formerly based in the Jewellery Quarter in Bham) but he couldnt take work experience candidates as his workshop is only big enough for him, his wife and his dog Image he gave me smome very useful advice including that the industry is crying out for new blood but nothing has come good thus far.

I had considered dropping CW an email to see if they could help - do you think that's worth a try?
