Well I've just had the opposite experience!
I tried on the Pasadena Blue Loco (which I've ordered), as well as the Twelve X in Steel.
I've contacted CW to see if I can cancel my Loco order and will order a Twelve X in Steel separately.
I'm no watch reviewer, but the Twelve X blew me away. Asked if they had something like a Zenith I could compare it to, and they brought out their special Defy Skyline - and I still preferred the Twelve, simply because of the ridiculous amount of skeletonisation.
I do however appreciate that skeletons are not for everyone and with that in mind many will disagree, which is great
I've always loved seeing how things work and the amount on show with the Twelve X (especially the steel which I prefer) is crazy. Plus unlike many other skeletons based on SW200 or similar, there isn't loads of empty space. The caseback gives an incredible view too.
Oh, sorry, the Loco.
Don't get me wrong, lovely watch. But in it's current iteration (I'm sure they'll refine it / modify it / let others release bespoke models) - I felt a little underwhelmed, and that may just be me not loving the centrepiece. Seeing the balance wheel and all that is very nice, and it's nicely laid out. The whole watch was nice, and I genuinely admire CW for what they produced for what I'm sure cost a fortune in R&D. But for me there was no contest. I put the Loco on and looked around it... it was nice. But for the same price the Twelve X just blew me away.
