If you really like the watch by design alone I don't see that it would matter, museum grade crystal or not. A curved crystal is termed "concave" as with lenses. I like the quality significance of a concave lens vs. a flat lens or crystal.

Sorry to resurect an old thread, but I was wondering how the MGC is in terms of hardness, compared to sapphire?

It is sapphire but classified as museum grade.

Thank you for the information. I feel sort of silly for asking the question. I guess I thought museums used a type of sapphire glass that was more break resistant. Ive been watching too many jewel theist movies
