An insult is only an insult if it is not true, otherwise it is an observation. 8)

So calling someone else's Mother a whore is only an insult if it's true! Good luck trying that one out on a group of lads in the pub and do let me know how it goes. I started of in a watch forum and ended up in philosophy for beginners.

Is that what you were taught at finishing school?

Downer, I agree it's as ugly as sin and accept that my info might not be correct but here is the link to the source of the info. http://www.watchalyzer.com/bulova-accut ... aph-watch/
Not sure about the chin thing but thank you anyway for at least engaging in the topic. I am, after all, only trying to increase my knowledge regarding watches.

I suspect the article may be wrong but it also could be right. With my limited knowledge I wouldn't be able to make the call. Any idea where to look on the net for more in depth information?

Why DON'T you try an e-mail to Bulova? They must have a customer contact facility & clearly they would know which movement is in this watch.

I am certain the article is wrong. There are a couple of quartz chronographs that have a sweeping chronograph seconds hand (the ISA 8174-220 used in the old CW C4 was one example), but I believe the only quartz movement with a sweeping seconds hand is the Bulova precisionist.

Not wanting to join this childish spat, but davidjamesinc, getting uppity because nobody's replied to your pretty technical question in a MASSIVE 15 hours or so seems a little unreasonable. Thoroughly disapprove of the subsequent name-calling, but you really need to have a little more patience!

I can't see any point in arguing over a quartz electronic device. My advice would be to throw it into a bottom drawer (one that sticks a bit) and buy a mechanical self winding chronograph and live happily and uninsulted thereafter.

Have to admit that I had considered emailing them but was concerned that they may have been reluctant to go into such detail based on the lack of information on their site. But hey ho, I suppose nothing ventured etc. I'll give it a go and see what develops.

To be fair, I think most people would have felt (as I did) that they could not answer the question. It can be frustrating to start a thread and find no replies - I've done it. Usually it's because people don't feel they have anything to contribute, or perhaps they have no interest in the subject matter. I'm sure you wouldn't have wanted two pages of "sorry, I don't know" responses. As for the "opinion"...
It's generally a pretty polite place. A lot of us tend to "congratulate" people on new acquisitions even when it's common knowledge that the watch does little for us in terms of our own tastes. No problem. Just the same as we say hello to the newbies and wish people a happy birthday. Yes, and we have our spats as well - it's a community.
No posts between August and November - I hardly think that qualifies you to comment on others' lack of response.
