C11 arrived, experience marred.

Post by bspj »

My PVD C11 vintage on a dark strap arrived today. The experience was, however marred by the deliverers, DPD.
I HAD been impressed when they gave me an hour long delivery slot, and trusting them, pushed back a meeting by an hour.
When the hour was over, and no sign, I tried to contact DPD who told me 'any time before 7pm!' :(
I pushed the meeting back another hour.
The watch was delivered over an hour late. Had DPD given a half-day slot I would have been quite sanguine to move the meeting to the evening. But they didn't; they had been quite specific.
I have had to push the meeting back again.
The driver was unapologetic and when I challenged him, he shrugged and waved his hand-held device at me and laconically explained that it was the fault of the computer (!) and asked what should I expect when a bridge was closed in a nearby town! :silent:
I am not at odds with CW but I have pointed out that their delivery people are seriously letting them down.
Steve....aka Grumpy and embarrassed.
PS the watch is pleasing.

I've always had my CW watches delivered Royal Mail Special Delivery. Interesting that they've changed to DPD. Due to lower cost maybe?

I've always got loads of watches for sale, PM me to see what I've got available right now!

I guess so. I have also heard a whisper that this is not the first such experience.........
If I'm honest, it's the embarrassment of the constantly moving meeting that has made me cross.

Make sure you feed it back to them [CW] direct - they cant have another company letting them down like this.

I have done, and was clear that I am not cross with CW, but think they need to grip their suppliers, on the premise:
Under promise and over deliver
Over promise and under deliver

Wonderful British customer service at its best. The delivery company will be able to trace the driver quite easily. CW: please take it up with them.

I have just had something similar happen.

My wife asked me on Thursday night to order a C70BRG for my anniversary present (anniversary in Tuesday), so I added next delivery to the order. Got a call from DPD on Friday night to ask when the watch was due to be delivered (Saturday was my reply). They said they would deliver by 12 on Saturday only to call back and say it was going to be Monday (but would confirm by E-Mail). E-Mail then confirmed Tuesday.

I sent e-Mail to CW who have sent replacement (DPD then had received the watch at the aberden depot which is only a mile away from the office).

I am therefore thoroughly impressed with CW but not with DPD who are the worst delivery company in Aberdeenshire.

That's disappointing to hear, and completely different from my DPD experience, both in Berkshire and in Devon.

I've found them to be 100% reliable and accurate with their timed deliveries.
So I wish I was James Bond, just for the day.

Ergo it is clearly 'patchy' or down to chance. Glad you had a good experience, I hope DPD can replicate the 'good' systems that led to your outcome and shake off the others.

Does anyone know why cw are no longer using rmsd? They have always been totally reliable in my experience.
Cheers now, Paul
