C1 Moonphase: "My God, it's full of stars"

Post by JasH »

:) This is a watch that needs to be seen in real life, so I took some decent pics today with my dSLR and macro lens. These were taken in direct sunlight.

The watch has a stunning aventurine dial AND a matching aventurine lunar disc. It also a highly lumed slightly 3D 4 colour ceramic moon.

Lovely big dial and no logo. With GS style sharp steel black polished 3 hands.

It’s exactly what I hoped for and I bought it instantly as soon as I handled it at the excellent launch event at the London Planetarium.

It’s a better aventurine (deeper and more sparkly) than the Lange Saxonia Thin. And with the moon disc in aventurine, a better dial than the Moser moonphase. 🤯

Consort bracelet suits it perfectly, as does the Mastrotto leather blue deployant strap.

CW knocked it out of the park with this watch 👏🏽

P.S. for anyone too young to have seen 2001 A Space Odyssey, that's where the headline quote comes from 🙂

Breathtaking pictures! Kind of negates any suggestions being floated that the dial needs a bit more furniture :D

If anything, all it needs is the deletion of the "Swiss Made" text

Great pictures Jas.

Interesting comment about the comparison between the dials of the CW, Moser and ALS. When I first saw pics of the CW I thought it was a stronger dial than either, but a less interesting case than the Moser.

For sure the Moser beats the CW in all other respects: case, finishing and movement. But the CW wins on the dial. And the Moser is 20x more expensive, so it's quite the achievement for CW.

All Moser need to do though is to use an aventurine disc for the moon too

It’s a beautiful thing, but maybe the print on the dial could have been done in some form of script. Such as
𝒮𝓌𝒾𝓈𝓈 𝑀𝒶𝒹𝑒 I’m guessing with all the twinkling going on it really isn’t much of an issue.

Nah, that's there to locate the six o'clock

Lovely pictures, well captured.

You're the second person today I've seen referring to "black polished hands": the hands on mine aren't black, they're silver so what am I missing?

Though I'm not sure the C1 Moonphase hands are actually black polished. Have they advertised it as such?

Maybe the hands are just "well-polished"?

Great photos for sure. You've probably just made CW a number of sales from the forum. You will have tipped a few that were on the fence, and probably found some new fans too. Enjoy the watch.
