I find the blue dial version very meh.

White dial is nice. I actually don't find anything lacking or strange about not having a logo below the "12".

Doesn't mean it's for me, but I appreciate its looks from an objective standpoint.

I really like the white dial versions, I think its a great looking piece and I am looking forward to getting the new CW Pipesmoker Power Reserve next week. I have to say I wasn't the biggest fan of the branding change at first but looking at this watch I am not sure the old Chr.Ward at 12 would suit this.

Very classy looking. It appears to wear a little larger than I expected and to me, the logo really works. As usual the real life pics look so much better.

To say the forum went into "meltdown" is maybe a tad excessive

I have waited to comment on this piece until I saw more of the dial. I am happy to now accept that the new logo can work and that the C1 GM is a stunning addition to the new line-up, particularly in the white dialled version. The movement is a thing of beauty and the decoration provides the sort of depth that we would normally see on pieces vastly more expensive. Well done CWL.

Looking back, I thinks that's a pretty accurate assessment of the reaction

I'm really liking this watch now. I quite liked it the first time I saw it and it's grown on me. Beautiful. If I was in the market for this type of watch, the white one would be for me and high on the list. I would have preferred all applied indices instead of the mix of alternate applied and printed - just a quibble, but would have been icing on the cake.

I'm surprised how much better the the white dial looks vs the blue - that silvery white face with blue hands is hard to beat. In comparison, the blue dial looks rather flat.

The wrist pic confirms my impression from the studio shots, that the dial would be better balanced and proportioned if it were smaller. It does look big on the model's wrist, but that's in part due to distortion from the camera being that close. Still, it's a handsome watch, and leaps and bounds more attractive than the old Malvern and Slimline.

That's quite revealing, in that the bumph on the website made the watch seem much more interesting than the reality I now see before me. In fairness, it was never a watch for me, but taken as a whole, I find it rather bland. Nor am I drawn, irritated, to the logo anymore, but rather, on the white dialled version, the empty space that is the top half of the dial.

Well, I like very much. I am much impressed. The new, much reviled logo looks a lot better at 3 than it does 9 and the power reserve indicator is sweet.

I think I'm going to have to start saving. White face, steel bracelet for me please.
