Some fun facts or snippets of information that I was able to glean from the evening;-

1. There will be a follow up version, already in the pipeline, for release in Spring 2023.

2. I confirmed that whilst the case is Grade 5 Titanium, the bracelet is only Grade 2. However, at a quick glance one would never know the difference. .....
......
4. The Vicuna leather straps are to the latest spec Vintage Oak.

.....

Thank you for the pix & insights, guy.

I v much look forward to newer colours & glad this isn't a one off but a series of limited edtions.

However, I would much prefer to see polished Grade 5 Ti on the case although I believe it's a lot more challenging for the matching bracelet (Grade 2 is almost impossible to polish & Grade 5 polishing on bracelet adds too much cost.)

Am I the only one thinking leatehr strap is too thin ?

Thanks for your comments folks.

^^^^ There's certainly no padding as such in the straps, they are very much of the slim & flat variety.

They look fine to me but a padded, within the central section, strap will raise the game on it.

CW has to offer a baseline, one strap fits all but we are all, mostly, masters at messing around with straps to suit our own preferences.

^^^^ Using Grade 2 Titanium for the bracelet was as a result of a production / cost decision as, to get a Grade 5 bracelet, would be disproportionately expensive to produce.

Just a note for buyers in the US. The price you were charged includes US duty and so, with any luck, the process of getting the watch into the US will be easier.

For the US customers who might have ordered early after the preview, were you able to order in pounds to take advantage of the strong dollar? From the details in the email about pre-ordering, I got the impression that wouldn’t be possible.

Nice to see CW is handling the duty collection.

Exactly. The marriage of the interesting and exciting aesthetic with the detailed engineering it takes to make it happen is exceptional. That story is on your wrist. Here we are on the CW forum and I can't think of another watchmaker that could do this with this level of quality at this kind of price.

Clearly it is not for everyone, but to even try to it would be for no-one. I applaud the very ambition of it and what strides have been made in the relatively few years I've had my limited connection with the brand. My CWs are fantastic watches without any "for the price" consideration.
I may end up with a Bel Canto, it may not work out (a second edition might sell out before I get to it again): either way - Bravo!

Guy, how much of a hand did Adrian have in designing the Bel Canto, did he pen the first sketch?

Well?

I think that's for me to know and you to wonder.

I'll advocate that the design processes are a commercially confidential subject and that I'm sure it was a team effort from all involved at CW.

As it stands, Mike France publicly thanked the young quartet (in no particular order) of Frank Seltzer, Will Bracknell, Jorg Bader Jnr and Adrian Buchmann in bringing the Bel Canto to fruition from Frank Seltzer's initial 'light bulb' moment of thinking 'can we adapt the JJ01 Jump Hour movement to provide a Chime'.
