Looks like a Mvmnt x Daniel Wellington collaboration.

I suggested a Vanta-black version to CW some time ago. But Vanta black is exclusively licensed to H. Moser & Cie. It's also a pain to work with. I like the black version of the Halo though but 36mm would be a real step too far to the small side for me.

I really like these two versions though and kudos to CW for making them.

:) Stop press!

I have just conducted some market research with Mrs nbg about the new Halo models:
(She lives with someone who has very good taste in watches; hopefully some of that has rubbed off. She has a gold Longines and SS Tudor and Tissot. Also sometimes borrows a Nomos or a DateJust).

Me: what do you think of that, would you like one?

Her: How do you tell the time?

Me: It’s easy enough really. Moser do it with many of their watches.

Her: That one looks like a watch from Next. Although a watch from Next is ok as an accessory for youngsters.

Me: It has a rose gold bezel.

Her: And?

Me: I have watches with rose gold. I like them.

Her: where is the rose gold?

Me: it’s the bezel.

Her: Looks a bit silly with that bracelet.

Me: Would you prefer two tone?

Her: What is that?

Me: A mix of gold and steel for the watch case and the bracelet (I showed her some pictures of TT watches).

Her: what are those numbers?

Me: For telling the time in another time zone. Originally designed for…

Her: Stop. That’s enough. I am not interested!

Saw the new photos of the "halo" in my emails and thought I would log into the CWF to see what the opinion is. I guess most people dont like it then?

Apparently its not a ladies or gents watch its just a watch.

I actually quite like the bracelet problem is Titoni have an integrated bracelet watch with gold (all be it gold plate) bezel diamond dot dial and a nicely decorated ETA 2892 movement all in for £1175 CW are pricing theirs at near double.

I have owned several CW watches and currently own a Titoni watch and see on great difference in quality.

Yeah Vanta is exclusive but their are other options. Chronotechna has 1 that is absorbs 99.4% of light.

As an 'object' it is an attractive one. And I like the idea of it. In principle. I wanted to see CW do a new dress watch and they did. And yet...
As a watch....ummm, 2 hander with no indices....would drive me nuts.

Looking forward to the 25th and the release of the new moonphase.

I have the Chronotechna. They claim to use vertically aligned titania nanotubes making it VATNA black. There is also Musuo acrylic paint which is 95% + absorptive.

What really sets the Halo apart for me is the simplicity of the dial compared to the regular "Twelve". I am not a fan of the ziggurats and how they 'play" with the light and the indices on the 40mm are, to me, excessive. I'm not sure I'm a customer but as a prelude to WindUp this is really exciting. The price and style mean it won't be for everyone but as a halo model (pun absolutely intended) for the "Twelve" range I think they are excellent.

I think this looks really cool, much cooler than I was expecting today.

That said, I have zero interest in getting one

Happy it exists though, I do agree that it looks better without the automatic text.

Here's a 36mm in ultrablack.

I think they reissue occasionally, although I may be wrong. They have some pretty designs all round.

Though the Halo isn’t one for me, I see more Moser than Movado. It’s an attractive presentation. It’s upscale with the bezel metal. The clean dial draws me in. The Twelve, overall, is nice. The two-tone doesn’t grab me; that look has not held my interest in some time. I hope it gets good uptake in the market. I think CW did well with this one.

Not for me and def don't like the logo for this dress style watch. For a sports watch, yes, but not for a dress watch.IMO, the old Chr. WARD would suit the dial far better, but that isn't ever going to happen🙄

I do however like the fact that CW are once again offering dress watches.

Very interested to see what the new Moon watch event brings.
CW watch count - enough to keep me very happy, but always room for more!

I’ve been having a look around to see just what images we have of these watches online on which to base our early opinions. If there’s a watch we need real wrist shots of, this is it. But I can only find one wrist shot of the rhodium dial, and that’s the one in the CW meagre offering of pics on the website. I think it looks gorgeous. For a prestige release, this is short on any images to persuade us of the quality of the watch. We can’t get a sense of that from words alone.

The black dial version is much nicer than the rhodium dial one.

However, I really like the ziggurat dial and SW300's PR, and continue to hope for a 36mm Twelve with those 2 elements, in a nice colour.

@asqwerth My thoughts too. The rhodium dial comes across as a bit bland. The black one is lovely if you want something compact and quite formal. If I go anywhere that requires dressing up (something I try studiously to avoid these days) I will wear the Tank or maybe the Twelve Ti. So I’m out…I’ve bought my watch for this year!

It sounds like a straight take-down of the Ti would have suited you perfectly. Perhaps minus the date.
