I have 2 bronze C65's and one C60 and all have 'gold' hands and indices and buttons, none of them show any signs of patination and are sparkly as the day they arrived. SO I would have to conclude that they are not bronze.

I must say that I really like this watch and it might be joining my watch collection soon. I do wish it was an LE, otherwise, I think it is good to go.

Indeed it's a great looking watch and I'm not a fan of the C63 range!

I have an Oris BCPD with a green dial in a bronze case. The color combo is lovely as the bronze develops. I bet the distressed dial here would play well with bronze patina, too.

I do wish I was currently ‘in the game’, so to speak - it is stunning. It shouldn’t work but it does and then some. Not as keen on the ombré dial C60 though.

Phew, I’m delighted that the smaller, C63 version has a darker/black dial option.
I am still in two minds about the sapphire dial though; my first choice would be a matte black, textured (Ombré) dial, but I can certainly work with this smoky version.
Appointment about to be booked at CW Towers to view in person :-)
Keep well,
C

The bronze C63 with black sapphire dial is an absolute Home Run in my opinion. Just might have to to get me one to sit alongside my Polar C63 GMT.

I agree, Chris. its colourway appeals to my coffee drinking sensibilities. It's a watch for smoking lounges, old wood panelled libraries and drinking brandy from opulent brandy balloons. It's a fine looking watch indeed.

I'm guessing that they didn't arrive very recently and that you keep them exposed to the elements, at least indoors, when not actually on the wrist?

I experimented on a bronze watch recently: I made up a strong saline solution - hot water and table salt - let it cool to tepid and dropped the watch in for 48 hours when I took it out gave it a freshwater rinse and wiped the crystal clean. Magic started to happen. As I'd killed nothing I repeated the experiment for a further 48 hours and I can report that that the greening had increased over experiment 1.

Since then the patination hasn't changed but then the watch is indoors in a domestic environment: I suppose I should leave it in a cup of saline for longer but in fact I keep looking at my other brass and bronze watches and wondering about experimenting further: care to join me?

I can't imagine deliberately inducing those uneven (ok, I'm going to be frank and call it ugly, IMO) patches of green on a case! Eek.

That said, the Bronze Sealander does look surprisingly interesting, though it's not for me.

ANd I'm speaking as one of those who can't see the point of a transparent/translucent dial through which you can see the date wheel.

In the kind of establishments mentioned above I would probably go the whole retro hog. :D

One of these would do nicely.

That'll be the marmite    In most cases patination is likely to be uneven I guess. EDIT: actually the truth is that I'm in no hurry to saline patinate any of the other four bronzes on the shelf.
That said, the Bronze Sealander does look surprisingly interesting, though it's not for me.
Mmm. I'm not with it yet, nor indeed the solid bezel on the new C60 bronze.

I don't think you've gone near far enough with your patination, I think to complete the look you need to grow some barnacles on the watch.

That'll make it perfect.

As a Fully Paid Up Coffee Snob, that may explain it :) As a teetotaller, the brandy image not so much....
This one will have to wait until after the Santos itch is scratched, however. And that will take a little while.
