An ancient alloy: tin? pewter?

My first CW watch was a C60 Bronze Ombre LE, which I have owned 3 years. Although, it has received some exposure to the outdoor elements, it has never turned green. But, it did acquire an unique patination over time. How well a person likes that is up to personal taste. Not sure how that impacts value as a bronze watch isn't going to look new. I do understand why that wouldn't be for everyone. I like the brown Ombre dial with the bronze case but have worn it less as my Christopher Ward collection has grown.

Well bronze is an alloy of, mostly, copper and tin. Pewter is an alloy of tin, antimony and copper whilst tin is an element and not an alloy. According Wikipedia bronze and the bronze age was between 3,300 BC and 1,200 BC. That's much more heritage than even the most ambitious of Swiss watch marketing claims.

I like the green ombre dial but I'm not going to buy a bronze watch. Patina would drive me crazy.

That’s the first bronze watch and the first sapphire dial I can get behind! Initial thoughts - well done CW.

Hmm should i jump on the C63 in bronze instead of the C65 AM 2 ("bought" on the sale) that CW canceled yesterday due to lack of stock?

Would’ve looked so much better without the visible date wheel.

This feature, for me, ranks alongside the date magnifier.

I hate both, but the magnifier just edges it.

I love this. It looks like maybe the sapphire is a little darker than the C60 sapphire black or the Abyss SH21, which is a good thing in my book.

I think I will have one of these one day. Kids just started daycare so it might be a couple years though

Couldn’t have put it better myself! With a more translucent dial, this would have been a winner.
