I think it's dependent on the particular watch.
Thanks for your comments, Michael.
But, for me, your photo proves my point. At least to me. So I don’t think it’s watch dependent.
That Tudor, looks expensive, wouldn’t get any of my wrist time. I wouldn’t wear it if it was free!! I’ve got rusty garden tools which look the same
Obviously my own opinion and I don’t wish to offend anyone who likes this sort of thing.
No problem and no offense taken. Bronze isn't for everyone. I like the idea of having one as a part of a collection and watching it do its thing.
I owned one rose gold watch and quickly found out it wasn't for me. Too much flash for my tastes.
I'm still in the fence with buying this one. I want to see how it patinas over time before buying one. Different bronze watches can patina very differently over time depending on the exact formula of the metal. I'll give this one a couple months. Not limited so no big rush.

Here’s my patina after about 10 days on the wrist.

Looks great. I think the aged (or in this case aging) look of the bronze is an excellent match for this watch. The brown dial, black bezel, and bronze minute ring just work so well with the bronze case.

Lovely. I think I’d be tempted to keep the inner bezel ring shiny while the rest develops patina. Do I have the patience and commitment for that?

That's not a bad idea. A two second application of lemon juice once a week and it would never patinate.

For me, I realised, I like the hour markers/indices with gold outlines.. so even if the case becomes dull, as long as the indices still have some shine at the outline around the super-lumi hour markers , I think the watch still looks great!
The hour minute and second hands also have the same gold around it, so it shld look fine.

According to the specs the indices and logo are 5N gold so they won’t change, the bronze insert between crystal and bezel will patinate if you don’t clean it, once mine gets to that stage I’ll do half and post the pics for reference

What do u call the sides of the inside of the case? As circled.
Wonder whether that part would patina as well and become dull overtime. How would that affect the look of the watch?
I wouldn't think the rehaut would patina since the watch is sealed from air and moisture. I don't know if it's bronze or something else.
It almost looks like it’s part of the bronze insert, i.e. external to the crystal, is that possible? Might be an optical illusion due to light being bent by the crystal anyway.
Thanks! That is where ROLEX engrave their wording… learnt a new term today.
I think it will also dull overtime since it’s bronze although much slower as it is sealed off from air or moisture.
It’s a French term related to “haut” = high, I guess because it raises the crystal to the correct height above the hands and dial. That’s what I have always assumed anyway, and etymologically it makes sense.
