I like the way it's progressing on the lugs. Not as much of a fan of the spots. Keep posting pics the next few weeks if you can. I'm very curious to see where it goes next. I still think the "living metal" is the appeal of any bronze watch.

I’m surprised no one has asked how this would look with the solid bronze bezel from the C60 range. The Ombré dial always scared me a bit as I was afraid mine might arrive with an errant scratch I just couldn’t live with. I have seen a few pictures posted where the bezel was allowed to patina, with the numbers cleaned back to a shine. The contrast looked amazing.
Time and money? I’ve spent most of mine on booze and women. The rest I just wasted…

Yeah I’ll do that. The closeups show the spots but in reality the overall look is that it’s browner than new but still shiny. The lugs are almost showing a rainbow diffraction pattern in bright light. I like the term ‘living metal’ every day it looks a bit different.

You can download it from the Archive, but if you contact CW I’m sure they will send you the correct book.
Guess what? CW proceeded to send me the hardcopy manual after I contacted them. Lo and behold, I got a notice from DHL to pay custom duties of $50+

The shipment from CW has an assessed commercial value of $400+ !!!

So did CW include freebies in its shipment?
I contacted CW again on this. I am not gonna pay $50+ just to receive the hardcopy manual… will ask DHL to return to sender if it contains only the manual. LOL!

Blimey. Surely all the duty if any has already been paid, as it should have been part of the original consignment. Can't you ask customs to open the package, and see what is inside? it would make more sense to just throw it away, rather than spend more money returning it to the UK. Crazy. :D

Yes I paid the full custom duties when the item was originally delivered.

Perhaps CW is really giving me complementary Watch straps as gesture of goodwill? 😂

400 bucks commercial value!?!

Contacted DHL.. manage to get the invoice. The desc is ‘Miscellaneous items’ and the declared value is GBP 250!

Perhaps CW is giving me the other 2 straps… to go w the hybrid rubber that came w my bronze watch. Haha!

Willl update after I hear from CW

This is a great looking watch and I would buy one but for:

1. 42mm is probably just a little too large for my taste, a 40mm please CW.
2. I love the unpatinated look of the raw bronze, less so once it does discolour. This is one of the main reasons I sold my C65 Bronze Ombre.
3. This watch (as with the C65 Ombre) looks best on the vintage oak distressed strap. Unfortunately these straps degrade very easily with the dark leather flakes falling off. If anyone has bought the watch on this strap recently and can report the current version of these straps are better wearing then I'd be happy to be contradicted. Admittedly the watch does look pretty good on the other straps offered too.

If they release a 40mm, I'll be tempted to buy and just get the lemon juice out once in a while.

I want a rose gold version that doesn’t patina… keeps its shine…

Same here, but happy with 42mm.

I know loads of people love a bronze watch. But personally I couldn’t imagine buying an expensive watch, then after a short while, having it look like it’s been found at the bottom of the ocean.

I genuinely don’t get the fascination with that aspect.

I think it's dependent on the particular watch. To me, the Tudor Black Bay Bronze looks better with the dull patina than the original blingy shine. A diving watch to me shouldn't have a bright shiny case. Tudor keeps it simple. Some other brands dress up their bronze watches a little much, which maybe makes it too dressy for patina. If Tudor made this particular watch in a 41 I'd have it. For me, it was a little too big and top heavy at 43.

Thanks for your comments, Michael.

But, for me, your photo proves my point. At least to me. So I don’t think it’s watch dependent.

That Tudor, looks expensive, wouldn’t get any of my wrist time. I wouldn’t wear it if it was free!! I’ve got rusty garden tools which look the same

Obviously my own opinion and I don’t wish to offend anyone who likes this sort of thing.

You should be getting a sec.321 exemption on the first $800 on any purchase coming from overseas. DHL should know that.
