I wouldn’t refer to them as pros or cons but there are definite differences, which you should understand before you buy a bronze-cased watch.

Bronze is slightly softer than steel, so marks are more likely, but… the darkening of the patina will cover for minor scratches.
Patina will develop - it will be gradual and it will be uneven.
You have to accept a change in appearance over time, even in as little as 4 weeks, but… if you don’t like it, your can reset it easily - literally 30 seconds for a rough reset, longer for full clean.
Don’t expect to get it back to new. Even with a full clean, it will look different to the brand new item.
You can force the patina if you like, to get faster and more deliberate changes in appearance. Google will give you some idea if what’s achievable and how to go about it.

In short - if you know what you’re getting yourself into, bronze can be a lot of fun.

Thanks for the reply. I had looked up pictures of bronze patina a few days ago and what Google had shown me was not very appealing to say the least. But I think those were extreme cases of forced patina. I did some reading earlier regarding the topic and there definitely is a lot of factors involved in owning a bronze watch. Has CW ever disclosed the composition of the bronze they use? I might have to shoot them an email to ask so I can get a better idea of what I would be getting myself in to.

How long did it take to sell out the first bronze Ohmbre? I’m trying to hold out till I get moved to buy this new green one, but don’t want to miss the party. I may just buy it and ship it on to the next place.

My first CW watch was a C60 Trident Pro 600 Bronze Ombre LE #281 of 300. I purchased mine in late February, 2019. If my memory serves me correctly, all of that limited edition were gone by May or early June. I wonder if the September retirement date was when the last ones were made to fulfill the orders? The bronze case watches are a bit more of a niche watch. Whether one will like the patina is very much personal preference. Mine patinated evenly & I think looks nice with the rich brown Ombre dial & vintage oak leather strap. I will try to take a close up of the case from the side to give you an idea.

Is there any sign of either of the new bronze offerings on the forum yet? I think some real world photos will really get people salivating.

New here, hello everyone  So I have my Bronze C60 about 3 weeks now and its my first CW and my first bronze watch! Some basic pics below.

I was all set to buy the Bronze Tag Heuer Autavia with green dial, but I was unsure whether I would like a bronze watch. When the C60 popped up, it was a no brainer to try one out at less than half the price of the Autavia. The green canvas strap was very stiff at first but it has slowly loosened up. However, I still find the watch doesn't sit perfectly flat on my wrist and tends to move around. I also bought the distressed brown leather strap, and that is much more comfortable, although I prefer the look of the green strap. Not much sign of any patina yet which suits me fine. I have found it hard to match the watch to my daily wear, so had to go out and buy some green shirts and tops  Long term not sure whether this will be a keeper or not, but it is nice to have something different in the collection.

Welcome, and congrats on the first real world photos on the forum of one of the new bronze offerings. It’s a nice looking watch. Do you feel the watch is too big for you, or perhaps sits high? Like you, I would imagine that a green dial is not the easiest to pair with your clothing choices. Enjoy in the best of health.

Thanks for the welcome Des. I do have a small wrist (6.5") but I'm used to wearing larger watches. I think it is really the stiffness of the strap that is the issue for me. By comparison, I also owned a stainless steel Autavia (42mm) and that sat perfectly flat on my wrist. I might try the leather strap for a while and see how that goes. Yes the watch looks a bit odd if you are not wearing matching colours, my wedding ring is silver so that clashes too lol.

Hi
Well I brought the Bronze Green Ombré a few weeks ago and love it! Sold a brand new Tudor Black Bay Bronze as it was bulky, uncomfortable and generally not impressive at all? The only thing I have found is unless you use the CW Bronze buckle it’s real hard to match the colour when changing strap.
A great watch, brought my first CW when they started out, I still have 5 or 6 and must confess the only thing that puts me off is the awful logo’s? Why not just put a discrete CW on instead of the massive current logo? Think we need to look at others to get a feel.
Keep up the good work tho! Chris

I love bronze watches and love my C60 Bronze diver and would love this green version especially as it would be my first green watch. Ive bought too many watches due to my problems of recent times. I was thinking of getting this as a memory to mum and dad who both passed within 5 months of each other. I have been offered free engraving so I could get something personal engraved as I wouldn't sell it. My tears on bronze would make it go green and would personalise the patina especially if they the tears at mums funeral on the 22nd. Im not sure if I'm being stupid but to me this how special it is form a patina to be part of the owners life. Of course the past can also be removed to the patina if the owner wanted a new start. I really am a head case sorry for the rambling

I received my c60 bronze green ombre . It's on my wrist right now and I love it, it's personal to me with all the problems I have going and I love all the markings on the bronze that tells a story with each blemish. That for me is the joy of bronze. Peace and and love all xx
