British Watchmaker’s Day

Post by Y Cymro »

Like many here I’m a member of the Alliance and looking forward to attending the British Watchmaker’s Day to see the watches made specially for the event, and particularly the Union Jack-dialled Bel Canto.
I have a ticket for myself, but a mate wants to attend and tickets are now sold out. I’m looking to buy an afternoon ticket for him, so if you have an unwanted one please get in touch.
Thanks

My understanding is that Alliance tickets are not transferrable. The Alliance has a waiting list for members' tickets which are given up before the show. The Alliance will be checking names off against tickets at the door for the free member tickets. Not sure about paid tickets though.

The good people at Brooklands Watches have provided a ticket so the least I can do is give them a plug:

https://brooklandswatches.com/.

I’m told there will be a small number of Triple-Four models specially produced for the day available via an auction, and I’m looking forward to seeing these.

Anyone else go and thought they let too many people it? It was crowded. Especially CW and Studio Underd0g. Saw a Bel Canto IRL for the first time and now know what the fuss is about.

It was really busy, but fine.

Thinned out nicely around lunchtime, and I got to see all the people I'd planned to, and some I hadn't.

I left as the afternoon shift was arriving.

Overall, I feel the exhibitors will consider it a great success.

Had a fab time - got to meet the dude who designed the FLE (Will Brackfield I think?), and got to try on the Dune Shore as well on the Oracle Time stand… Lovely watch, definitely on the wish list ❤️

Have any forum members entered the draw? And, more to the point, have any drawn Mr Wonka’s Golden Ticket?

I don't remember Will being on the Design Team. ;)

To be fair, we did consult him a few times regarding what was feasible.

Ah, yeah, ‘worked on’ is probably more accurate 😊

Ah you mean he told us what we couldn’t do and made one small suggested improvement to our proposed model.
