Bracelet Latch is too big?

Post by Watchywatch »

I love the watches and huge fan of price point but think the bracelet latch is a bit bigger than it needs to be, I wonder as they're streamlining the range if they considering reducing the catch size also?

I don't recall there being any news of this from CW. The new clasp being longer is a very recent change, so I can't imagine that CW would change it again so soon. Just my opinion.

I agree. The newer length was a change to accommodate a longer quick adjust internally. We could debate the move being useful or not but the current bracelet is the status quo for a while at least.

And the quick adjust is a very useful improvement.

Don't go a-worrying that you are alone in this opinion. :) I've looked at mine on many occasions and wished for a slimmer look. Mind you on many watches over many years I don't remember there actually being a physical problem but even so....

With a couple of half links (cant remember if my C63 36mm has any), we theoretically wouldnt need that many levels of micro adjustments, and therefore could have a shorter clasp. On wrists of 6"5 and less, that clasp pretty much fills the entire underside of the wrist and doesnt curve as nicely around it.

I'm waiting for my green bel canto and I am worried the clasp is going to be huge on the bracelet. Planning to order the leather strap too so it will probably live on that.

I do agree it is very slightly too big, and should be shorter. Accepting that means less range of easy adjustment.

But I also don't find it really bothers me. I guess those with smaller and rounder wrists might struggle though.
