Bracelet centre links

Post by PC-Magician »

Polished centre links like them or loath them?.
They do seem to be a scratch magnet.

I'm not keen on them at all.

I just don't see the point of them.

I like them, on the right watch.

I think it depends on the watch and how the rest of the case is finished. For example, on the GMT-Master I think they look good, but on a Black Bay, they would not.

Generally speaking my preference is for brushed. It's a rare watch where I think that polished centre links look better, but there are quite a few where they look good enough to buy regardless of my preference.

Now if the question was cyclops lenses, that is definitely enough to put me off buying one!

I prefer brushed links on the Trident bracelet, personally I think polished links on this watch looks tacky!

I agree with Richard, on the right watch PCL's are perfect.
We all have different tastes though ;)
On my C60 Trident MK1, I think the PCL's suit the watch due to the case.
The fully brushed bracelet on my C65 works as all of the watch is brushed.

Prefer brushed but then again on a C700 I think they are better polished to match the case.

My thinking too.

Depends on the watch and the finish on the case.

I'm not a fan of mixing metal finishes or metal colours, looks very tacky..

Not only polished center links but fully polished bracelets as well they look great. Don't understand where the scratch magnet bit comes on as I don't have that problem.

I had PCL on my Rolex GMT & hated them, after a year of ownership they looked absolutely awful like the watch had been really abused, which I must add it hadn't.

I ended up trading the watch, mainly because of this for a Sub with brushed links & can honestly say it still looks like new after 4 years.

So not for me ever again!!

Brushed not polished for the C60. I hope a Mk 2.5 updates and changes this. Seems like with the crazy amount of options available now (gold hands, white dials with green bezels, etc.) and with them already having a C65 brushed bracelet that this would be a no brainer, just polish the lugs and the case-back.

Not a big fan of the polished links on my C61, although I have sort of 'got used' to them in a way . Think I may change to a leather strap though.

I've never thought about it until I got a brushed bracelet for my Orient Mako and it looks brilliant.

Does anyone know anyone in the UK who could be trusted to brush the centre links on a C60 GMT bracelet and the likely cost.
