Bespoke PSYWAR C63 Sealander Auto

Post by mvlow »

I just saw this on CW's Instagram page. The dial color and design of this bespoke C63 is pretty impressive..

Is that an ombré dial? It’s the first one I find appealing.

It looks like an Ombre dial. It almost looks like a marble texture. The color of the dial with that scratched pattern works great.

That might be the best Ombre dial I've seen. I wonder if it's representative of the entire run. I've always found that the Ombre dials always seem to have one "too heavy" scratch that becomes the focus of the dial. This one seems very well balanced.

If CW would do that exact same color dial with the slightly textured look, but without the scratches it would be hot. I would be tempted to buy a general release C63 Sealander with that dial color and texture. I've never been a fan of the scratches for exactly the reason you said.

I’m right with you guys! The issue for me with the ombré dials is that they look damaged, not textured. This one looks textured.

But since each dial is hand-"scratched" (hee hee), I don't think you can be sure that the one you get will have a texture/scratch design that you like.

All these Special/Limited Editions that look amazing, and the Forum can’t agree on one for us. Ironic, isn’t it?

Frankly I’m glad we can’t decide on something. It’s less temptation to buy

I quite like that, though the name of the regiment it's made for is scary (assuming it's psychological warfare )

When was the last time we actually tried? Just looked and I'm tempted to see if I can think of 99 variations between price, style, hands, case size and colour to max out the poll

Exactly why I’d never buy an ombré dial!

Polls are not going to work, nor a democracy. You would have to have a take-it-or-leave-it stance. As long as you garner the minimum number of orders needed for a custom design, and the interested members were willing to commit to payment at the stated price, you would have to ignore the noises and complaints of other people and just go ahead with the project.

However, the main question then would be, would such a watch qualify as a FORUM limited edition? You might have people disagreeing that it deserves that title, because "what gives you the right to speak for the majority of the people on the forum?".

I’m feeling battered and bruised by politics at the moment- I think I’d find a forum limited edition campaign emotionally devastating!!

Wow, obviously i dont know about finishing and all, but it reminds me of some the Grand Seiko dials.

Id welcome dials like these as part of regular references.

Polls are not going to work, nor a democracy. You would have to have a take-it-or-leave-it stance.
There would be just one poll where people pick all the options they would potentially buy, just the below would make 24 options:

Purple, burgundy, brown
Trident 300, Trident Pro, Sealander 36, Sealander 40
GMT, Auto

Any option with less than 75 votes gets dropped (to allow for the inevitable "I don't like that shade of purple" drop-outs) while the remainder are designed by someone and then everyone can commit to buying any/all which they would. The one with most buyers is what the forum majority wanted, is it not?

Things work so simply in my mind :D
