. . . .but if exported from the UK, to say the USA, the VAT is removed before local tax and duty are added.

Unbelievable but true!

Today I received my Bel Canto Cielo watch, Christopher Ward thus managing to meet the original delivery deadline which was the end of September, even though they had informed me that due to technical problems it was to be extended to the end of November.

In addition, I also received a Light Blue Vacona Leather watch strap for free!

Last but not least, Christopher Ward and DHL handled the VAT and customs duties very well so that I had nothing to pay.

My respect Christopher Ward!

After a month of wearing the watch, I declare myself satisfied.

The "sonnerie au passage" has a very beautiful sound that reminds me of the chimes of old watches.

The accuracy is very good, I say, it gained 9.5 seconds per day, an aspect also confirmed by the Accuracy Watch Meter which gave a value of 10 seconds. And what is more important, I think, is that this gain has remained constant week after week.

The minute hand has an almost perfect position when it triggers the hourly signal. I was a little scared because another forum colleague posted a photo in which he showed us and explained that the sonnerie au passage started about 2-3 minutes late.

But most of all I like to admire all its details!

Not to mention the fact that my wife is delighted with it and when she saw it for the first time she exclaimed: It's absolutely gorgeous!

Happy days!

P.S. Can you help me with an idea for removing the transparent seal on the back? I tried to gently press it with my fingernail so as not to scratch the back of the watch, but it seems to be stuck there pretty well.

I'm puzzled though about the 'transparent seal on the back'.

CW, as far as I am aware, doesn't use separate seals on the back and front of their watches. They use a clear plastic, rectangular wrap that goes about 1.5 times around the watch.

Any chance of posting a photo?

^^^^ Ah, okay. That looks like a protective film. :) :)

My normal suggestion would be a finger nail or thin plastic knife; nothing hard that might scratch.

Alternatively try some duck / tank / gaffer tape; stick a bit to the edge of the film and then try to peel back - hoping that the stiction of the tape to film is stronger than film to caseback.

^^^There is still some protective tape on the clasp too.
