Your best bet for an explanation would be to message @Kip or any of the moderators directly about this. I feel pretty confident they won’t discuss anything about it in an open thread like this.

I informed C Ward at the WatchIt! fair about this and they were not impressed this is how new members are treated. Forum members after all will make up a large fan grouping and C Ward customers.

In fairness if it was a mix up, as you were advised, then it’s an unfortunate circumstance rather than conscious poor treatment of a new member.

C Ward's own page says it is a very friendly forum. It seems to be but this, personally, has not been a great start. If this is an independent forum why is C Ward marketing it on their site? That doesn't add up. Anyways

I’m not surprised to see this happen. To be honest, I was just counting the days as there was an undertone to a lot of his posts. It’s just a shame that @scooter is taking a break because of comments this guy made.

Some of us will be curious to see how you'll deal with this; will you learn how to avoid a repeat or will you just slip away? No-one's forced into forum membership so a person would have to want to stay.

This is a friendly and very safe forum which will always be down to the cooperation and commitment of us all, including the mods who, as you've learned, don't operate a yellow card system: given the level of their remuneration that's maybe not surprising.

Was there a thread that was deleted which I missed? I checked his posts after reading this thread and didn't see anything really untoward (there weren't many posts listed).

No thread deleted (that I know of), perhaps a post deleted, though I don't think so. Nothing said that was an overt attack, but definitely some head scratching comments, an attack-y undertone and unwarranted accusation. Some of what I think is a little out of the norm around here. And whatever happened re: the banning is between him and the mods. A post like this on the open forum instead of a PM to the moderator isn't necessary.

Your avatar now is a "banned" stamp. I don't know if that's ironic, or something temporary.
