"April"? @TheBeatles I get Cockney, just not that one. I bet it's good though
It is quite abstract (if you're not a cockney like me!!).
April in Paris - aris
Aristotle - bottle
Bottle and glass - arse!
Fantastic stuff! Thanks
My Nan and Grandad were Cockney, but being a Saaarf Londoner I've been around enough Cockneys to be familiar
Likewise, a Saaarf Londoner close to the river - so when the wind was in the right direction it would have been possible to hear the sound of the bells from St Mary Le Bow! Besides rhyming slang is commonplace, especially in south east London.
Time flies whether you're having fun or not. The choice is yours.

Your avatar now is a "banned" stamp. I don't know if that's ironic, or something temporary.
A mod can correct me if I’m wrong, but I think they change the avatar to that when someone is banned. So he’s gone now, and we won’t be hearing from him.
Honestly, I’m surprised this thread isn’t locked.

Don't give the mods ideas JKB! Cockney is great fun

Indeed 1 of the popular pubs across the river from where I lived in the 1970s had its name in rhyming slang, "The Apples and Pears" in Rotherithe.
I visited it a few times along with another pub in Surrey Docks but I can't remember the name of that one.

No need to correct you Andrew.
The 'Banned' Avatar is used exclusively by the Admin Team when it is found sadly necessary to, well? Ban a forum member (which doesn't happen that often).

Sounds like you should have reversed the visiting order every so often

Doesn't happen often, and when it does it's usually the same person (as I suspect it is this time).
