Back into the CWL fold...

Post by Sabbath »

Decided that I needed to include a CWL in my watch collection before my spending re-adjustment with impending job change

I would say guess what it is but all you would have to do is look at my signature. I have been debating a swim/summer watch for a while. I was doing well with resisting until Alan offered me his new one; which unfortunately for Alan wasn't a keeper.

Great news for me though - pictures Wednesday when it arrives

Congratulations. I spent three or four months without a CW a couple of years ago and it was nice to get back in.

Cheers Neil - i think I need to change my statement. My head says it's complete as I am not after another watch; however, you never know whats around the corner.

And it was wrong to leave a space in my box

I also seem to have difficulty with the concept of "complete" as far as watches are concerned.

Sabbath, so this is what happens if I turn my back on the forum for two weeks?!

Just a little reminder: Orion!

Yes, I have also given up the concept of "complete" if it comes to collecting watches. It is a process that is evolving.

Enjoy the C60 300! We are all looking forward to the pictures!

Andreas, two weeks is a long time on here.

I was all set to purchase the lovely Orion - the Ranger was gone and the funds were there. Whilst I was waiting to visit the shop I looked around and decided that the GS would make a bigger impresion on my little collection. I already had the small manual wrapped up with the Tangente so the Orion wasn't a NEED. The Orion will not be on the Radar for a few years if ever. I have blessings for smallish purchases like this one but another expensive purchase is way away. Plus for once I love all my watches, am not lusting after anything and with this one no realistic spaces in the box :D

Glad to have you back in the fold and that you filled that empty slot. Now get yourself another watch box for those .....shall we say..."impulse" purchases. :D

I do have other boxes but they are firmly put away. I think I have been using the wrong wording in the past - A collection is never complete as there is always something around the corner. However I am content with what I have and am not looking for the next purchase or have a grail to save for. There will of course be an impulse or an impossible bargain. However it must fit into my watch box (it fits 10)(maybe 11 if one is on a NATO) - I have 10  To let one go - at this moment - would be very difficult - content.
