I really like the Aquitane - I'm considering it for my first CW watch. I'm hoping to be able to visit the showroom in the next few weeks and check them out in person - keen to see what that sapphire dome is like IRL, and if the bronze is as good as it looks in person.
I find it a bit odd (and disappointing) that there's so few reviews of it on YouTube.
I also like the C65 Trident, but it's been discontinued and I don't know enough about watches to feel confident about buying second hand.
I’ve seen a fair handful of hands-on videos with the Aquitaine. At least four or five. I’ve certainly watched enough while I’m up on newborn duty to feel good about the preorder I placed.
Yeah, I've found some good ones recently. Which colour did you go for? I'm thinking about the blue non-COSC with bracelet, but have heard there might be a sale in the next month or so, so am holding off for the time being.
I wouldn't count on it but there is a current coupon code.

It will be a little bit different depending on where you are located. UK - 100LOUPE25 US - 125LOUPE25 If you are in a different location hunt around a bit and you can find the correct variation.

The new black one looks great, just like the others. I still haven’t warmed any further. Still have niggling doubts about the swish only being a painted white blob. The white looks a little off next to the vintage lume. Sorry to sound like a broken record.

It looked off to me too until I looked really closely at my 1970s 1675. The lume plots have gone to a cream color but the Rolex crown and text are stark white. Here is a random one from Hodinkee:
So, I guess if you were going for the 'true' aesthetic the text would be white.
Here is a vintage 50 Fathoms. Note that the bezel has gone to cream along with the other lume but the dial text is white.
I guess it boils down to what they were going for. A modern re-interpretation or something that resembled the vintage closer. Some brands offer both choices (thinking Baltic here).
EDIT To ADD: I thought that the Twin Flags in white was a lot on the Super Compressor too. After seeing some real world pictures it doesn't seem to stand out as much in the flesh as it does in the renders. Might be the case here too.

Thanks for this, puts it in perspective a bit
I still think there’s a difference though. A small smattering of white in thin, delicate lettering isn’t as “in your face” as a thick white swish blob. The difference isn't as noticeable.
I also liked the swish only on the super compressor more when I saw the real life photos. Hasn’t been the same when I’ve seen real life Aquitaine photos though, and I can’t pinpoint why.

^^^ The date wheel, swish, and markers all match color.
Why not make the date window round to match the blobs?
Everything we’re talking about boils down to personal preference, but I don’t mind the date window shape. I think it works because the trapezoid mirrors the upside down 12 o’clock triangle close enough.
