Apropos of Nothing - Thanks!

Post by ROF68 »

For whatever it's worth. . .

I've been collecting CW and other watches for the last four years or so. In that time, I've had some ups and downs with quality issues and customer service, but have, by and large, been very pleased with the watches, the value for money, and the company generally.

Until this past summer -- when I finally joined this forum -- what I didn't really have was an outlet for conversations or discussions about watches in general, or CW watches in particular. It turns out my wife -- who I love very much -- apparently doesn't share my passion for timepieces that are worn on the wrist. Not sure if anyone else can relate to that.

In any case, as a newbie (although I think maybe I was just promoted to "junior" member of this forum), I just wanted to say thanks to all of you for creating this space where people can discuss the joys, frustrations, and quirks of this whole watch hobby thing -- and CW in particular. I am grateful for it.

That is all.

Oh, one other thing: I already have a Sandhurst, and do like it, but boy, now I kind of wish it had the newer hands that are on the just-released version. So it goes. . .

Thanks again,

Tim

It does feel like a very enabling space! Certainly my interest of these watches has only increased by being here

Thanks -- yes, I totally agree! And it turns out that walking up to a stranger on the street and saying "Hey, do you want to talk about watches?" doesn't usually go very well. . . :)

Good to have you on board, Tim. I came to this forum because I like 'talkin' watches'...as the kids on the street call it. I'm on my way to 2,000 posts now and still no CW. There are plenty that I like, but life has pulled me in directions not conducive to watch purchasing. Still, I'm delighted with what I have and I enjoy being part of this community. I view this forum as a watch 'assault course', somewhere where you can give the whole watch thing a good ol' workout. Take it easy and enjoy. :D

You can certainly do that, and to your heart's content - but there's so much more to the forum than watches. For what it's worth, I prefer the Mk1 Sandhurst. Each to their own eh?

Welcome aboard Tim.
