I’ve always thought that if you need to change a watch to make it look like another watch, it probably isn’t the watch you wanted in the first place and you should have bought the other one. I’m rather the same with fauxtina, factory-fit wabi and “vintage” lume. If you want a watch that looks like an old watch, buy an old watch.
Again, probably quite uncharitable, but when people talk about modding watches I tend to think of old cars with lowered suspension, oversized wheels, farty exhausts and silly stripes.
Chacun a son goût.
