@Bahnstormer_vRS, was the red accent next to the 3 already there, or did the gentleman add that too? It’s a nice touch!

Jay decided to jazz it up a bit and went to work with Black Ceracote for the case, Red Ceracote for the crown and painting the tip of the seconds hand red as well. He then put it up For Sale on eBay as spotted by @Renton and it found it's way to me.

The finish is excellent. Unlike PVD, you lose the definition of the underlying brushed or polished finish to the (original) steel case, to give it a kind of fine bead blasted, matt finish which is consistent all over. The Cerakote application is nevertheless still quite fine, not plastered on.

The additional red detail of the seconds hand tip and crown are the icing on the cake, which are brought into focus with the red on the soft touch leather strap I'm currently using.

This looks great! This is actually the kind of response I was looking for. I 100% agree that CW make quality products; however, I think the urge to mod comes more from simple curiosity or a change in taste along the journey. I don't think one purchases a CW with the intention to mod something that one is dissatisfied with from the onset.

Btw, how's the Cerakote holding up?

^^^^ The Ceracote is fine, but then I've not exactly put it to the test by using the watch as a daily wear in a harsh environment.

It's come out of the Watch Box maybe half a dozen times in the year and a bit that I've owned it.

Clach inspired me to convert my cream dial C6 KF quartz into an auto. I wasn't fortunate enough to locate a set of white hands from another C6 KF auto, so had to go for a set of generic ETA hands.
They fit the bill design wise, but are a little short.

How did I find the right case, but not the hands?
Because it was the case from a C6 KF Auto Blue LE, hence blue hands which wouldn't have looked right on the cream dial IMO.

Can always revert back, if need be.

I take your point, but I own two C6 LEs so I've kept one intact as an auto and the other has the blue dial and hands running on a quartz C6 case setup - from the C6 KF cream dial quartz setup.

Can always revert everything back!

This is my C600/C60 Elite/Trident. C600 movement, dial and tritium hands in a C60 Vintage case. The stainless case is a nice contrast to the black PVD Tri-tech Elite case. I prefer it to any of the yellow dialled C60 variants that were ever made, due to the visibility of the black hands and markers. Of course the tritium tubes are pretty cool too… still glowing. Oh, the sunray dial is a stunner too and the matte black bezel looks great against the yellow.

I am a fan of personalizing watches. Odd how much vitriol this can elicit; not any different from putting new wheels on one's car, or for offroaders (and wannabes) who jack up suspensions, add roll cages and wider fenders. Whatever floats one's boat.

I have thought of changing out the dial on my C65 bicompax for a traditional panda/reverse panda (have a couple of blue chronos) but too lazy. Anyone know what size the dial is on that?

I want to! I've got my eye on the trident Atoll (the white/grey one) and would love the crown on the left. I would need a date disc to work with that... I've seen some Oris models with left crown & date at 6 o'clock, so it's possible. But I don't know where to source the date disc, or even if the dial feet are okay to rotate 180 degrees

I would really like to see a black C65 Trident hand wind with hands like a speedmaster. I find the shape of the bezel and the box crystal remind me of the speedy, and I'm sure it would be a super mod.

The blue or green/khaki version would look good also but the black is the speedy in spirit.

Rather more expensive too, although I have one. When I wear the C65, as I am doing today, I just feel like it's a baby speedy, except for the hands, (maybe the non white dial treatment, but it's the hands more than anything)
