Another milestone
Well...it has happened again. Another milestone post. At 25000 I think I can stop celebrating for awhile. It just keeps reminding me how much time I spend here. I am pushing 10 years in this place!!
However....it has been time well spent. A lot of friends made. A lot of knowledge absorbed. A lot of laughs shared.......and a very large collection built.
Again I had hoped to do something special for this post, but time still has not allowed it. I have been working diligently behind the scenes on a few things and hopefully this coming year will bring a couple to fruition.
A recent post by newbie jamesmoss serves as a reminder what a great place "The Asylum" really is and the type of people we have here. That is why I stay. We are family. We have our disagreements and our little differences of opinion, but we stick together and offer help and advice when we can. Through it all, our mission remains the same. To welcome everyone, to teach and to make this a friendly place to learn about CWL and horology.
As I have stated before, I never want "newbies" to be intimidated nor afraid to join in and ask a question. We have members from all around the world, and that sometimes can be intimidating for some to join in, but I have always seen every effort made to understand the language and cultural differences. This is what makes you all, and this forum, special in my view.
Thank you my friends.
And to our founder Hans, if you are out there somewhere, and to Chris, Wera, the CWL team and the moderators that I have had the joy of working with, Joe Rattz, Yoda, downer, ianblyth and Helix Von Smelix.......Thank you all for all your efforts at making this a wonderful place.

That's an amazing milestone Kip. While you may not have singlehandedly built the forum to its present state, your contribution and enthusiasm has been incredible and absolutely second to none. You've not only been an enthusiastic brand ambassador, but you've also demonstrated a breadth of knowledge across the industry. Your contributions to the forum cannot be overlooked by even the casual visitor.
Thank you Kip and please keep it up. I'm looking forward to seeing the changes - and the discussions those changes will bring!

Re: Another milestone
Congratulations Kip. 25,000 posts is an unbelievable achievement.
Thank you for all you do for the forum, not least setting the tone of civility and friendliness for us all to follow. You are a tremendous ambassador for both the forum and the brand.
Huge respect and thanks from me.

Re: Another milestone
As a 'newbie' - in my first week of membership - I have to say it was really nice when after asking a question, I was asked by a established 'forumite' called Kip, if I'd got the answer I wanted or if I needed to know more, so, clearly, the wish that "I never want "newbies" to be intimidated nor afraid to join in and ask a question" is most definitely being achieved!
And for that many thanks.

Re: Another milestone
Congratulations, I agree with all the other comments, you really have made a major contribution to the development and growth of the CW brand and I'm sure the company appreciate this as much as we do for your efforts in maintaining the forum and making it a great place to spend some time.
By the way, 25000 posts...can you please refrain from any more speedposting

Re: Another milestone
I remember when i was a newbie (5yrs ago) the first time we spoke by pm regarding my avatar which was a bit risque to say the least. You asked my very kindly if i would change it something a little more family friendly of which i did and now still use.
My full respect to you since that day Kip and for many more years to come. Congratulations on the 25k posts and for the time & effort you bring this forum i thank you.

Re: Another milestone
Great milestone, big big thank you for making a very recent newbie very welcome and providing really helpful responses to my frequent and sometimes probably repetitive questions. You really set the tone and that is evident by the friendliness of the whole forum.
