An Email To Mike France

Post by scooter »

I've just sent the following email to Mike France which he may or not see depending on whether it falls into his Inbox or his Spam folder.

I felt compelled to write to him in the following way:

Mike

I've been around CW since 2010 and have attended several 'dos' at Marlow hosted by Chris and came to the Bristol chat at the M Shed in Bristol in November 2019.

Heck, I even submitted the winning design for the CWF 2012 LE aka as the scooter blue and feel privileged in owning #1.

That said I have often been quite vocal against CW on Forum as I'm hardly the quiet and retiring sort.

I was one of the first to see the C900 monopusher/single pusher at Marlow with Chris and JJ and a dozen others. I thought that was a groundbreaking watch apart from the silver hands and said so at the time. Some years later that was rectified by replacing them with blued hours to finally make it the great watch it potentially was. That retailed at £2417 back in 2012 and was well worth it.

New models came and went. Some I liked and some I didn't.

The next one that really caught my eye was the C60 Concept but it wasn't quite there.

This week came the blue Bel Canto which initially I didn't pay much attention to. Watched a few YouTube videos and today saw it in green. Mmm I thought.

Mike you've cracked it!

Best wishes

Nice one Scooter. You've obviously been around for the whole CW journey, praise from the likes of you should mean a lot. You clearly speak with some experience. Companies should be told when they get things right and/or excel.

Footnote:

Having written to Mike (a busy CEO who has had a very hectic week no doubt) at 21:33 last night I received a lovely response at 10:33 this Saturday morning.

I can't imagine many Chief Executives responding personally let alone on a Saturday morning.

That says so much to me and why I support this brand.

That’s been my same experience with Mike France - I CCed him on an email response to customer service thanking the CS rep for the service I received, and he responded immediately. I emailed him directly again to express my frustration about the C65 AMGT LE being announced as the last quartz CW would offer and then not bring that. Again, he responded within 12 hours, and on a weekend! He was sympathetic to my frustration, explained the reasoning behind the move, and apologized for how it might have looked. I couldn’t ask for much more than that!

That connection to the customer (also as evidenced in the GTGs and the previews) is probably one of the biggest appeals of CW for me. I love it.

That’s a wonderful email, Scooter. I’ve been contemplating something similar. CW is firing on all cylinders lately, and I’ve wanted to let Mike know. I think your email will motivate me to finally write my own.

Fingers crossed you like your Bel Canto when you receive it :-)

Is anyone able to provide Mike's email address at all please?

First time seeing this thread.

Really thought it was going somewhere it wasn't.

What a relief.
