This. Though I have to admit I have done the same thing as you in the past with shaving items.

Col is the only one selling a C60 FLE on eBay. He has NOT done it AT ALL like this. he put a high price on it but did not get any bites. He then lowered it but still did not get any bites. He then ended the auction before ANY bids were placed on it. He did it the RIGHT way. In stark contrast, the OP let's the public "run up" the bid to see where it might go. He then ends the auction before it has the chance to complete in a fair competitive format and instead reaches out to the higher bidders and "offers" them the item at a price HE feels is fair. This is NOT ALLOWED by eBay and is not "fair" to the market. The ONLY reason he is doing this is an attempt to defraud eBay of their selling fees. You will notice that he is "fine paying listing fees" and (in his mind) he "thinks" he is paying for advertising, not listing. That is suspect but not illegal. The only illegal part is that his items are NOT available at a competitive rate nor through the auction.

It's like advertising a 2010 BMW for $0.01 and letting it get bid up to $8,500. Ending the bid and then calling the high bidder (at that time and likely every other bidder) and "offering" them the car for $18K. It just does not make ANY sense. None of those bidders offered anything NEAR his "magical" price, but he feels that is what it is worth and is hoping that someone from a 3rd party forum might see his ad on eBay and then make him an "insainly high" price for it. Pretty much the exact opposite of what Col was doing with his ad.
