Advert for 5 day

Post by bspj »

It is super to see an article in QP, and adverts for the new CW star watch in GQ, CN Traveller, etc.
But how sad that a brand pushing its Britishness is using American spelling for the noun license (sic).

I would suspect mis-spelling rather than Americanism - that is one of those words most adults no longer seem to know how to spell...

 BBAAAWWWHAHAHAHAHA!!! Darn spell chek has ruuned hour abelety to spel.

I think it'd be smart business to spell the American version when advertising to Americans. . just a slight psychological edge in that Americans will relate better/faster to the advert, and we are less likely to lose faith in the brand because of careless errors.

Now it's time to wurk.

I think I raised this when the movement was unveiled. No one cared.

I think proper etiquette would suggest you use the spelling for the market that you are advertising to. Given that there is so much overlap, at least for me, between the UK and USA and having Canadian relatives, I hardly notice, nor care, anymore.
