Abyss advice
Abyss advice
I’m not a regular poster of discussions on here, tend to observe more than anything. But I’m after a little advice. I’ve always fancied an Abyss but never taken the plunge. I quite like the idea of an all black watch so felt the Abyss would fit that criteria but I see a lot of them with a lighter case (gunmetal maybe?) Were they ever made with a black case to match the dial/bezel?
Thanks, D.
Thanks, D.

Thanks Amor. That’s a no then. If I want one it’s a gunmetal case. And there’s finding one now as well!

Re: Abyss advice
Little light on the dial. And the subdials are a little off for me. I want that full on non legible, squint to see the time, draw that is the original Abyss.

Re: Abyss advice
Well the bezel is jet black and you can only see the light catcher case if you go looking for it?

Re: Abyss advice
Go for it. I love my Abyss, which I’ve had for more than 2 years. Legibility is overrated

There was one all black Abyss made. I bought the prototype in the last Christmas sale.

They do look good! It takes a trained eye to even find the watch though...

Re: Abyss advice
I bought and then sold my Abyss. It is a really cool looking watch, I still think that. The legibility was just too much of an issue for me, maybe because I'm in my 50s and live in a gloomy place (Scotland!). In a lighter, brighter environment and with younger eyes it probably would make more sense.

Re: Abyss advice
It is a cool watch. I’ve always wanted an all black watch in my collection, the Abyss fits the bill as a casual weekender for me at a good price point. When I look at all black watches I see the ceramic Black Bay & this Longines. But at over £3k I’m not sure either are justifiable for the position they’ll have in my collection.Thegreyman wrote: ↑Thu Jan 12, 2023 8:57 pmI bought and then sold my Abyss.
