A unique black C3 in gold

Post by Hans »

The C3GKK, a black C3 in gold, doesn't exist, but CW made a pre-production model of this variation. Terminator is the owner of this unique watch and kindly provided these pictures. I think the black/gold combination is really great:

Nice watch! I really like the golden case.

But what I do not like: The white date behind the black dial :(

I agree, but that can be changed easily...

I've got a similar C5 here - a C5 GKK (gold, black dial, black strap), which is really really exquisite. I find the black dial in the gold case the dog's whatsits.

I don't do macro often, but I'll see if I can get a picture of it. Mine also has the white date wheel, which I think is quite distracting. I'd love to have (and would be willing to pay for) a black date wheel...

Ahem. Hans? ;-)

The black-date wheel for my black Malvern came from my Aviator, which now has the white date-wheel, doesn't look good. :( So I'm also looking for a black date-wheel. I'll ask Chris if I they can be ordered...

Hmpf. I could have thought of that... he just uses the date wheel of the Aviator.

No disappointment here. Let's see if we can source some black datewheels :)

How about this one? I found it while looking for cases for ETA 2824's a few months ago:

As promised, a few quick & dirty ones. I don't have a light tent, and I was too much in a hurry to drag the flash head and softbox out... I just put it on a white piece of paper and made do with available light ;)

It's clear to see that the date wheel should've been black. As this one is a very early sample (it's two years old and doesn't have a serial number), I don't blame Chris for it. But there will be a black date wheel in it sometime if I can help it.

This one is actually more accurate than my C5 SWT #257, which hasn't had a proper adjustment yet.

Ask Chris, I guess. He's in charge... he decides. He may not have that many left, and some of them are keepers to him.
