Thanks for posting Professor Glenn, I am thrilled you had a great meal with your son! To explain my side a little more, I didn’t do this for any recognition on the forum or any other purpose except for it felt right. I was looking at the watch thinking to myself—I cannot possibly replace this watch for the selling price, if something goes wrong in the transit I am going to more than annoyed. All of a sudden it hit me. In the conversations I had with Glenn I knew he REALLY loved this watch. I hadn’t worn it in over a year. The battery needs replaced. Why not just let him have it.

I think we’re all going to need more of this moving forward. There’s just too much greed in the world today while so many people sit behind closed doors and have fear and anxiety. The good feeling I have received from this has far exceeded the amount of money which would have went into my bank account. It is my hope others may see this and at some point think—maybe it’s just best for me to forget the money.

Cheers all

Z

There isn't enough space for how many thumbs up this deserves. I'll give it a   and an amen!

Amen! I couldn’t agree more. I’ve been trying to live with a “pay it forward” mindset since Covid hit and have no regrets about it so far.

Hi Zane. Of course I know you didn't do it for any recognition! But you do deserve the recognition and I will always remember your kindness and I haven't looked at another watch these last three days! Absolutely love it. And it really has been great to share with others that there are good and kind people left in the world. Thank you again for everything. Best, Glenn

What a lovely story. As many posters have already commented it just goes to show that there really is a lot of good in the world, and many good people too. Hats off to kind gentleman concerned.

Incidentally, I’m pretty sure I know that restaurant, is it just down from Canning Circus?

That's exactly why we belong here - we are all "freaks" when it comes to watches, because we love them. That's just how it is....

The watch has gone to a top guy on here. Glenn is a smashing fella who takes care of his watches. Well done to all concerned here, a great story indeed.

Congratulations to Glenn and Zane, a great story. I'm very sure that acts like this inspire others to do likewise, which can only be a positive thing in the tough times in which we live.

It’s always good to get a personal recommendation, thank you. Back in my student days (many years ago) we used to rent a house just down the road from there. We’re still in Nottingham now, so will add Tipoo to our ‘places to visit’ list.
