A CW showroom visit

Post by nbg »

I first visited the showroom in December 2013, followed by a few other visits over the past 11 years.

With the recent move to new premises, a bunch of new releases and a watch to pick up, I thought time for another visit. :)

Declan was an excellent host as always and Patrick also popped in for a chat.

It is fair to say that the new showroom is rather impressive!

I was pleased to be able to pick up my Twelve X Ti and also looked at the steel version. It is fair to say that the Twelve is my favourite CW model. A 38mm version in an everyday colour will hopefully complete the set at some point.

Did anyone say Bel Canto classic? These two were my clear favourites.

I was also impressed by the Lumière but already have too many dive watches.

I certainly recommend a visit for anyone who is able to get to the showroom.

The light blue C60 and C63 GMT on the shelves look interesting. Are these from the past and I missed them :( or a glimpse of the future :) ?

Edit: looks like they are the white ones in a blue light

Glad you enjoyed it, Neil. I’d enjoy seeing the new facility at some point. And congratulations on the watch.

A timely post for me, Neil. I'm toying with a spring visit to CW's new HQ. There's never been a time when I've been enthused about so many CW offerings, the brand is flying at the mo'. I've only ever bought a watch from the internet, without trying before buying. Their new premises looks superb and I really like the idea of trying a number of watches on from a shortlist I'm compiling in my head. I can imagine that I might leave with a totally different watch to what I expected. Delighted to heat that you're very pleased with your new acquisition.

Sounds like you had an excellent visit there and you encourage me to go that little bit out of my way to book a visit in the New Year.

I'm finding it quite hard to take off my Twelve X Ti and hope you get the same feelings for yours. There are days when I make myself wear something else but quietly find that I'm "changing for dinner".

Interesting to see how two colour variants of the BC Classic continue to prove very photogenic.

Thanks for a photo-filled, fun and fact finding foray!

Thanks Steve. The 12X is certainly not the type of watch I would have gone for a few years ago.

I am sure that the next mod’s meeting will provide an opportunity for a visit.

Thanks Des. If you do arrange a visit I am sure there are a few forumites who live within about an hour journey time, who would be up for a get together and a pint whilst you are in the UK.

I took it off this morning as I was tasked with moving the contents of a wardrobe and drawers from one room to another. Didn’t want to risk scratching the 12X-Ti so wore an Explorer. :)

Normal service now resumed.

@nbg I meant to ask, Neil, what's the story with the solitary orange hand at 4pm? Surely you must have asked?

@strapline
Bonus point to you for asking.

Plaster moulds of the hands of 12 key staff, each wearing a watch considered important to the development of the company. In many instances a favourite watch.

The orange hand is Mike’s. Don’t know why his is orange other than perhaps he wanted his orange, just because he could. Or an orange diving glove, albeit his arm isn’t wearing a dive watch.

Extra point to anyone for identifying the watch…
