I received my catalog today and inside was a letter containing my £50 voucher :)
Still not sure if I'll have enough funds before the use by date to avail of the voucher but I really hope so ;)
If not I'll use the 10% code.

This has already been spotted elsewhere & ebay informed, as the person is selling the info multiple times which might constitute fraudulent trading under ebay rules.

Well as a marketing tool it has gone very well. We have seen sporadic discounts for 10, 15 and sometimes 15% but they have never generated as much interest as these vouchers.

Having a think about it the voucher is useful for anything under £500 as that equals 10% and anything over £500 it would be better to use the 10% off code. The other advantage of the 10% off code is that it is not restricted to a value of £300 or more.

For example, a C10 costs £375 which would be £325 with the voucher making it a 13% discount but with the 10% off it is £337.50. Better to use the voucher.

A C9 Chrono at £850 would be £800 with the voucher (a 5.9% discount) but would be £765 with 10% off. Better with the code. And the C900 would be equivalent to a 2% discount with the voucher.

If I were CWL I would not be worried that the vouchers got into other peoples hands as long as they used them. Quite a few times we have seen 15% discounts and as the minimum spend for the voucher is £300 then the discount is not much more than that at 16.7%. And if they buy a more expensive watch or multiple watches then CWL is better off and has new customers with money coming in in the run up to Christmas. For a discount that they might normally do anyway.

Whatever way it is one of CWL's best marketing strategies to date.

got the US version ($75 off $500) inside my catalog in today's mail.

well, technically, my wife got it (i guess since she bought my 2012 FLE for me as a present). but i opened it, not realizing until afterward that it had her name on the outside.
the "g" is for Greg...

I haven't seen a 10% off code and I looked through my magalogue thingy... To be honest the £50 voucher seems rubbish to me as there's little chance of me ever buying a CWL at less than 15% off list but I suspect, given the response on here (and hopefully at large) that the strategy as worked better than the usual percentage off codes.

All that said, I am sorely tempted to splurge on the C900 at 90% of list price, but then again I can't help but think I might nab one at a quick pinch on a NN sale at some stage... I think I'd pay £1800 for it but can't quite bring myself to pony up more than two grand. It'll probably be my loss in the end!

My faith in goodness and fair play has been renewed. My CWL catalog and voucher letter arrived today. The deal for us Yanks is $75 off any order priced at $500 or more. Very generous.

If the C900 turns out to be as good as is hyped why would any be returned and end up in the Nearly New sale. Unless you want the one hawked around the journalists and has been taken to pieces by at least one. This must be one to buy new if you really want one. What's a few hundred pounds over a lifetime?

Well I just used my voucher today to pay for the C11 Mercedes (Tom was putting it in the post today).

http://www.christopherward.co.uk/men/sp ... enz-1.html

So that is an auto C11 (which normally sells for £450) and I got it for £375 (and I prefer the minute ticks which aren't on the standard C11).

Result :D :D

Now I just need the C9 Blue (which is supposed to be shipped around mid Nov).

I found the maths lesson on what percentage discount equate to what very useful.

Especially the answer of what 10% off £375 is.

Well lanblyth is a helpful chap generally, but he does seem to make an extra special effort when he knows that numerically challenged persons such as yourself are struggling with %'s.

Good of you to appreciate his efforts
