@Harpy...search about the forum and you will find enough topics to get your your answer. No need to perpetuate the subject in another thread.

It seems only natural to me that new members to the forum may wish to express their views on the logo, whether good, bad or indifferent, rather than just read what others have said.

Ah ok, I see that the logo is a contentious issue that should not be spoken of? I have seen on other forums that the brand and the changes get some ribbing. If it can't be discussed here, and amongst its fans where can it be discussed?

Re: 3 logos in one
I like the new "flag" logo on the clasps.
So much so, that Wera sent me a clasp to retro fit to my red/black c60 600 trident, bought September 16.
This was only to satisfy my OCD, as my recent c60 600 acquisitions have the logo on clasp.

I am not saying he shouldn't express his views. I am suggesting he express them in one of the many threads that already exist. Also, by reading some of those other threads, he may find the explanations he seeks.nbg wrote:It seems only natural to me that new members to the forum may wish to express their views on the logo, whether good, bad or indifferent, rather than just read what others have said.

Kip I agree that newbies should read what has gone before, but regardless of our boredom or collective amusement on the topic I think it's good that CW receive views from potential new customers rather than just dinosaurs like us lot.Kip wrote:I am not saying he shouldn't express his views. PS: I knew what you meant, it's just it came across as being a bit grumpy to a newbie.
But perhaps on reflection warranted.......

Re: 3 logos in one
Thanks Neil. I do in fact sense a bit of hostility since joining, and on numerous threads. Long standing members' guilty knowledge of prior subjects of controversy/debate are not known to newbies and it would be unreasonable for every newbie to search/read up on all previous posts in case it may have been discussed before, etc. Be grateful newbies are keen to discuss, nit have a dig please. Several other newbies have also received curt responses from old (and sometimes, pompous) lags which isn't ideal if the brand wants to expand its fanbase. I have been informed that this forum is fantastic for knowledge sharing but die hard fans can be somewhat hostile towards folk who wish to question or query the brand, constant logo changes etc. Does make me wonder if some of the members are employees/plants (and it's quite easy to guess who they are).nbg wrote:Kip I agree that newbies should read what has gone before, but regardless of our boredom or collective amusement on the topic I think it's good that CW receive views from potential new customers rather than just dinosaurs like us lot.Kip wrote:I am not saying he shouldn't express his views. Please continue to respect the newbies' enthusiasm as you do in your welcoming thread, or risk losing these newcomers to other forums (and potential sales of CW products too; the website is the brand's shop window and the forum represents the customers doing the window shopping and whether to go inside or pop along to the jewellers next door).

Re: 3 logos in one
Personally, I'd rather read posts that discuss the new/old logos and all things CW.
Especially in place of some threads which IMHO are a complete waste of time and space on the server. As a newbie, I used to read everything that came up unread. But now, I find myself reading maybe 6/7 at most.
I find the differing opinions enlightening and sometimes very amusing.

Some of your rhetoric is more than a little familiar.Harpy wrote:Does make me wonder if some of the members are employees/plants (and it's quite easy to guess who they are).
Have you been a member on here before?
Under a different name obviously.

Re: 3 logos in one
Exactly. This is a forum to predominantly discuss the brand, yeah? Shame if some topics are off limits, especially when newbies aren't aware such discussion grates others (it's only a logo). Won't be mentioning it again though!TheBeatles wrote:Personally, I'd rather read posts that discuss the new/old logos and all things CW.

I am always up for the consternation and wailing that the new logo brings.
Don't worry too much about it. This is a friendly place and we always give a bit of a dig here and there.
Just give as good as you get, get stuck in and you will be fine.
Indeed, most on here are the brands harshest critics, but we do care!

Re: 3 logos in one
Keep wondering and you're welcome to guess, but there aren't with the exception of Christopher Ward who posts maybe once a year and Wera Metres (wizziethewiz) who likewise posts once a year(ish).Harpy wrote:Does make me wonder if some of the members are employees/plants (and it's quite easy to guess who they are).
Would you like to be so bold and 'name & shame' those forum members who you believe are employees/plants?
