@iain - I need you to work on a thesis that explains in similar depth how it is that owning all my watches has actually made me money over the years. Ta!

@iain
A slow day at work?
It’s all very well you quoting the hourly rate of £17.48 for UK median earnings, however…
Is that a statistically sound methodology?
I think you need to use median earnings rate for the subset of the population that buy “luxury watches”?

Respectfully, you will feel better. This might be a leap of faith but it's a step you need to take.albionphoto wrote: ↑Wed Jan 24, 2024 12:46 pmMy in-laws are still in the 1950s... I don't think a GMT will help me.tikkathree wrote: ↑Tue Jan 23, 2024 11:25 pm
Oh now you aren't really trying and we all know that you know it too!My fam are seven hours behind so who needs a watch to inform things?
It's not about need it's about desirethat "wouldn't it be nice" moment....just like the basic timekeeping function. It's after ten at night right? Close enough? Well no, I want tp see the time to the minute.

Don't know that anyone has mentioned a new The Twelve 36 (Ti)?

I may be qualified to offer questionable, half thought through financial advice but I can’t work miracles…..

Re: 25.1.24 teaser
How can you tell?
Not a bad idea, I might be able to include how buying on a bracelet over a strap can speed up the time taken to put the watch on, thus saving even more.

Re: 25.1.24 teaser
You definitely need to add in the time savings just looking at your watch over pulling a phone out of your pocket, turning it on and then putting it back. Some definite savings there as well

^^^^^ At this rate it won’t be long until we can prove watch ownership is effectively free.

Look like a video started early. It is a new 12 36mm with adds to the regular twelve. Check out Brit Pierce on YouTube.

I don’t like the twelve and wish CW would focus on their dive and field watches.

That was a rollercoaster of a reading experience… thanks, Iain!

It’s not like this is the only reason to own a GMT. a GMT watch will actually save you money as well. Here’s how.[…]
Re: 25.1.24 teaser
With the 36 date window and the terrain in the new teaser I am doubling down on this guess. A 36mm Sealander GMT with maybe a top date window (because the 36 comes in from the left clockwise)
Re: 25.1.24 teaser
The teasers don’t make much sense to me if they’re about this watch?
The Twelve isn’t my thing either, but I’m glad it’s a success and I think these are excellent additions.

Re: 25.1.24 teaser
Back on topic. We have Sealander/trident markers, a GMT hand and a 36 day date wheel.
Is this all relating to one watch or is it a few? Does the new 36mm 12 cover the 36 reference?
