I agree. I think the C50 is the best case for a FLE. After all, I guess the C50 has a future with CW, whereas the C3 may not (eventually).

So C50, non-cosc, pure white ceramic (type/finish) dial, with some nice contrasting hands and an alternative complication from the C50 day/date - say a big date or power reserve. In fact, I think I just described the same watch as Robin suggested earlier in this thread (with the exception of the roman numerals).

A C3 with a 7750 will put it in the range of a C700 and probably a bit more due to case mods and limited production.

That would put it out of the price range that most have found acceptable.

I expected a little bit of lateral thinking on this one. Do not try to re-invent the wheel but think forward to what might be accomplished for a reasonable cost.

Just an idea, subtle,understated etc?

Love the look of that but would prefer it with lugs and a strap. 8)

A "no" to pocket watches for me, even if it would be very different and unique.

I can't imagine walking around with a pocket watch!

I don't care for the dial, but the cradle concept is rather fascinating. :)

Love the dial! 8) Lose the cradle, put it in a 38mm case with lugs and 3 o'clock crown, nice leather strap...bootiful!

Spark something new!

Reasonable cost implies the use of current cases & probably movements which limits the scope for innovation. Add into this mix the dislike of quartz by a significant number of members which further reduces the options (it has to sell after all) and the opportunity to do anything more than pimping an existing model to forum status is severely limited.

Sparking something new rather implies a significant deviation similar to the 2011FLE project or possibly a complete departure from current models, which may or may not be acceptable to CWL and would almost certainly fall foul of the 'accomplished for a reasonable cost' parameter.

I'm not sure how much latitude for lateral thinking is available to create a unique forum piece from what is found in the existing lineup.

Bar 1mm of case size, that makes it a c5 by another name. Nice piece but doesnt push the boudaries for me. However, it is a difficult one as we try and conceive something that will not need huge re tooling but be different enough.

Further idea.....

A c1 base would be great as it harks back to the origin of cw. Case Dimensions would seem to tick the box for a unisex,

I really like the use of a colour - the brg dial suggestion is most appealing, like the limited run c7

Dial could have a guilloche pattern akin to the c5, similarly topped with Simple baton markers, polished case.

Circular date window but with black date wheel (per c5 aviator mk1). Exhibition back with museum sapphire crystal per the c11.

Unique left hand winding crown with protection / locking mechanism feature (something like the panerai but not as big as graham)

Having questioned Yoda's brief, I've now thought of something lateral  . CWL already do several GMT watches using the ETA 2893-2 which gives us the option of having a true 1 rotation per day 24 hour dial watch using that movement.

So, either a C9 or C60 case with a bespoke full 24 hr dial in a colour, style & hands to be decided later. Sadly this will upset those searching for a smaller watch as I suspect the 2893-2 needs a big (40mm+) case, but it would be significantly different to anything else they do at the moment.

Exhibition backs already available + little or no case retooling would likely keep the costs down to not much more than the standard GMT's go for currently.

The other option is you could do a 24hr dial watch in a 38mm case if people were willing to accept it as a quartz
