My Small Collection

Post by Flumpus »

Here are some pictures of my small collection. The only watch not pictured here is a seven year old Seiko chronograph, that was my first non-Timex/Fossil watch, and I love it, it's just nothing special that anyone wants to see :)

So, first up, a group shot. With my C5, Aviator, and my Bathys Aquaculture.

Next, closeup of the C5.

Now the Aviator.

And the Bathys (the mother of pearl dial is beautiful, I haven't seen any picture that does it justice). It has an ETA 2892 movement, is 200m water resistant, a very nice watch I think. It's on a carbon fiber strap...

And finally, the lovely movement of the Aviator.

I guess I'll throw in a picture of my dad's watch that he's asking me to sell - a Hamilton GMT. It's really a nice looking watch, he just has problems seeing it when he's just quickly looking at the time. Also, it seems as though he's annoyed by automatics, because he doesn't wear it everyday, and doesn't want to wind it and set it when he is ready to wear it. If anyone wants it, let me know :)

He paid $450, so I'm listing it at $400 shipped, considering the almost new condition.

This is my first attempt at a lume shot, and of course the battery on my good camera is dead, so this is just with my wife's little point and shoot she carries in her purse, so be forgive the poor quality.

Nice lume! Do you know what kind of lume is on that watch? And, how bright a light does it have to be under and for how long to glow that well? I ask this because of the poor lume on the LE. I still feel like something is wrong with it. I have looked at several Invictas at a store and with just the store lighting they glow like crazy. Yet the LE won't glow very intense at all and it seems to take a lot to make it glow. My seikos glow nicely from just ordinary lighting.

I'm not sure what kind of lume it is, but for that picture, I held the watch under a normal lamp for 30 seconds to a minute, then turned off the lights and snapped some pictures. I have noticed that just walking in to work from the parking lot, the watch is glowing when I get into my darker office area. I had a Seiko Samurai, and it had great lume, but the Bathys is better I think.

I haven't compared the Bathys to my Aviator, because I just haven't worn the Aviator very much, but from what I have soon, it's lume isn't great.

Well, just for comparison, here's the lume on the Aviator... I'll let yall be the judge.

Very nice collection you have flumpus. You get better photos with the point and shoot than I get with my digital. Excellent job!

Flumpus,

Your Hamilton appears to have an ETA 2892. I’m sure of it. You are aware of that I hope. That’s a fabulous watch with having that movement. I'm sure the price was pretty high to. I’ve got the same C5 Malvern.
