Congratulations Tyke. Personally prefer the C11 Makaira (especially in Blue) to the C8 U2 so agree you made the billiant choice. Well played.

Quick update on my C11 - still loving it & it's my daily watch now. Upsides are I think it looks great, I no longer notice the added weight & it's really comfortable to wear so going to leave it on the rubber strap for now but might get a blue dotted C70 leather strap as an alternative as I saw the C11 Merc version for sale & liked the case /strap combo on that. In its short life it has been my most asked about watch, so it does seem to be attention grabbing which always helps to spread the CWL 'gospel'.

Downsides - only one which is the blue hands aren't that easy to read in dim light but are still legible, it just means to have to look rather than glance. Got a colleague who is thinking about one but he would go for the orange version which stands out more.

Accuracy - currently running a bit quick at +15s/per day but I'll be keeping an eye on this to see if it settles down.

All in all, still a big :D

Sorry, Tyke - missed that first time round. Whilst it's not my type of watch it does look very nice!

f1colin wrote:Great blue.... My wife has just said that it would go nicely with the new car incoming in 10 days time and asks "Does the rubber strap smell of vanilla like the one on the c700?"!!!!

Pray tell?!
It smell like...silicone? It's a rubber smell. In-fact, I smelt it as soon as I held the watch up and it still smells like it. It's a good, distinctive smell. Smells like the quality it is.

I bought my Makaria Blue last December using the same exact code, which remember was before the price hike. It has since gone up quite a bit.

The blue is a bit darker in real life than most pictures show. I think the blue version is the most dressiest of the three colors, as the orange and white are more toolish. It really needs a black strap with blue (threading or whatever) in it to look it's best. Leather, alligator, or ideally since it's a diver, shark. I wore mine when seeing Desolation of Smaug Tuesday and I couldn't stop staring at it. The clarity is shocking! It has a Rolex Explorerness to it which is what appealed to me before I bought it. It just looks top notch and fits my wrist perfect! Sure beats that C60 for you, huh Tyke?

Question: Does anyone know what material the hands are made out of? They are awesome though I sometimes wonder if it'd look better with chrome hands.
