C9 Jump Hour Mk.1 | C600 Black/Green | C5 Battle of Britain

Post by 7ee »

All been seen here before so not worthy of their own threads, but thought I'd share a few of my nicer pics now that I've finally got a collection of half decent snaps(not as great as many post here but I only have a phone camera :) ).

First, my favourite of course. The C9 Harrison Jumping Hour Mk.1

Nice trio Tetlee. The C5BoB is on my list of wants, and looks good on the NATO/Zulu. I also really like the dial on the Mk1 JH, but just wish they'd had the logo on the surround of the hour window rather than on a separate plaque.

Thanks. The BoB is a pretty versatile watch when it comes to straps, I prefer it on the NATO, it fits with the design and I like the casual option it gives over my other watches. As for the JH, I wouldn't have liked the logo on the hour surround, I think it would have cluttered it slightly. If I have only one point I'd change, the logo plaque IMO would have been better the exact same finish as the rest of the surround(grey silver), same thickness too to blend it all together.

Yes, that would work also. It's just that plaque as it is that slightly puts me off, but I think I like the dial itself better than the Mk2 version. A watch with a slightly unusual complication is missing from my collection, so it definitely appeals on that score.

Three very different watches but all look good.

Nothing wrong with those pictures, I don't know why people apologise about taking photos with a phone as these days some phone cameras are better than a lot of the "real" cameras out there.

Great collection you have there Tetlee.

I particularly like the photograph of the JH photograph against the yellow background. That works.

Three very nice and contrasting watches, photographed really well. I've had many, many CWL watches in my collection at various points in time, but never these three. Looking at your pictures I would welcome any of them now.

In particular, I was never a great fan of the JH Mk1, but your photos and some others I've seen recently have put it in a different light for me and I find myself starting to get drawn to it. I am still a little concerned about a dress watch in the 43mm C9 case, but this one seems to wear smaller due to the inner ring on the dial and the textured inner circle, making it more viable in my view. Hmmm, will have to think some more about the JH Mk1. :)

The C600 is definitely on my list somewhere although perhaps in yellow form, if I find an example in top notch condition.

And the C5BoB is also making a run up the charts after I saw it in my recent Showroom visit.

Thanks again for the great photos.

Thanks for the nice comments guys. The BoB seems to be gaining a lot more interest here of late I've noticed, it's a great purchase seeing as the price didn't increase since its release. I think it's a lovely design that always seems overlooked.

With the comments of the C9 case, I agree and was one of the reasons for me choosing the Mk.1 over the Mk.2. I'm pretty convinced the plain dial of the Mk.2 would make it wear much larger, and I'm a big fan of the dial detail of the Mk.1, it's beautiful to my eyes and one of the nicest jumping hours I've ever seen.

Three brilliant CW's, Well done and great photos too.
Great seeing the C600 on a leather strap(hides in horror at mentioning that on a dive watch...), I think it really suits the watch. A Hirsch ?
The JH MK1 though is my favourite which I long to have in my collection at some point.

Thanks. The leather strap is indeed a Hirsch Liberty, a great strap and what I like is the thickness means there isn't any exposed lug remaining which is one of my pet hates.

There is a cheap Jump Hour Mk.1 on ebay at the moment with a day left, incase you're interested
