C65 Dune Aeolian Bronze Marram
C65 Dune Aeolian Bronze Marram
A Christopher Ward watch, back on my wrist! (I had a C65 Dune GMT few weeks ago).
A beautiful piece.
Dial is changing with lights, hard to show on pictures.

Marram Dial, tobacco strap.

Looks great! Congrats!
Just wanted to confirm, are the indexes and hands rose gold / bronze color? Or do they just appears so due to reflection?

Stunning, I just wish my wrists weren't the best part of 8 inches.
I really would have any colour too, steel or bronze.
Congrats

Finally dipped my toe into the CW waters with this watch. The more pictures I see the more I realised I made the right choice. Looking forward to officially joining the CW club.

Re: C65 Dune Aeolian Bronze Marram
It arrived!
Photos dont truly show how nice this is in person as it was overcast day here so not the best natural light available.
Yes I managed to score a bronze bracelet! If you look closely it already has a patina comapred to the watch case. When enquiring about the status of the bronze bracelet, and subsequently told it had been discontinued, I advised the customer service agent that Id be happy to purchase a bracelet that had been returned or a bracelet that couldn't be sold new due to it having a patina already. Thankfully they were able to locate one that matched that description and I placed my order for the watch. I certainly had no issues with that as thats the whole point of getting a bronze watch is because of the patina. Im super happy with my decision.
Now to decide. Do I force the patina on the watch case. Do I clean the patina off the bracelet. Do I just do nothing and just wait for the patina on the watch case catch up to the bracelet? I think I most likely go with the do nothing approach unless convinced otherwise.

^^^^ Congratulations on your new acquisition, especially the bronze bracelet (of which I'm a fan).
To patina or not patina? - Leave it as it is.
It's all part of the story of your watch. The bracelet looks to have very light patina so far and the watch head will soon catch up.
Enjoy it.

Re: C65 Dune Aeolian Bronze Marram
I'm not sure I would force the patina. My bronze has gone quite dark very quickly, and I refreshed it yesterday in a lemon juice bath, and it came back quite easily (I did it about a year ago as well). Picture below, but I should have had a before as well as the after. I wonder if forcing the patina makes it more patchy, and might cause verdigris, and I wonder if that is removed so easily.tiktoktiktok wrote: ↑Tue Feb 25, 2025 6:04 am It arrived!

Re: C65 Dune Aeolian Bronze Marram
Patination push? I'd be distressed to lose the polished "light catcher" elements of the case and I don't know how I'd address the issue. Or maybe I do. Previously I have forced patination and actually haven't enjoyed the result and I suspect that what works in a marine environment might not please me quite so much living 40 miles inland. OTOH I do enjoy the slow-forced patination of my C60 Ombre dial.
