Re: FLE 2023 Launch Announcement
So have you nicknamed it the penguin because it’s black and white? Or because you had to wait a long time for it?
For me it’s a penguin because I couldn’t wait to unwrap it while I was drinking my cup of tea……
Iain’s Law: Any discussion on the Christopher Ward forum, irrespective of the thread title or subject matter, will eventually lead to someone mentioning the Bel Canto if the thread continues for long enough.

Re: FLE 2023 Launch Announcement
I've just noticed that the logo is black rather than shiny steel - is that right? I've just been angling the watch around but it's not reflecting any light. That's really cool

Re: FLE 2023 Launch Announcement
I love it! I think this may be the best Sealander CW has made, maybe they should hire the design team
I love how the vinyl record ring draws my eye in preventing the dial from looking too expansive on my skinny wrist, how good it looks on leather straps (i’m a strap guy) and how detailed it is whilst remaining cohesive.
A big thank you to the design team for coming up with this and seeing it through, and to @welshlad for having to deal with all this with patience and grace during what I’m sure turned out to be a bigger/longer commitment than you probably thought you were signing up to!
Also to those who have the consort bracelet on the FLE, how comfortable do you find it and are you able to get a good fit? (I know butterfly clasps can sometimes dig in and lack of micro adjust) And is it similar quality level to the Bader or a step up?

Re: FLE 2023 Launch Announcement
Personally I’m not convinced by the consort. It seems a little lightweight and dressy for me. I’m starting to wish I’d have stuck with the bader bracelet instead of swapping over.Theartfulbodger wrote: ↑Sat Feb 10, 2024 4:10 pm Also to those who have the consort bracelet on the FLE, how comfortable do you find it and are you able to get a good fit? As for fit. Mine came with 4 half links and it’s easy to adjust. I’d say it’s probably impossible not to get a decent fit and you can position the clasp exactly where you like under your wrist by swapping links about.
Quality? Difficult to say as they are both very different looks and hard to compare. But the consort doesn’t seem like a cheaper alternative.

Re: FLE 2023 Launch Announcement
Has anyone else measured the accuracy of their FLE? I’m getting +13s/day, which out of the 25 or so modern mechanicals I’ve had takes the prize for the least accurate, the only other watch I have which is more than 10s/day out is my grandads watch from 1937!
I realise this is still technically in spec, and that it may well change as this is day 1 (although my experience is that this is rarely the case), but just a little disappointed. I may open up the case back and twiddle the fine adjustment screw if it annoys me enough. My 36mm sealander runs consistently at +4s/day which I am very happy with. I measure with toolwatch.io app.

Re: FLE 2023 Launch Announcement
^^^^ I wore mine yesterday evening with negligible handwinding, let it rest overnight, then set it properly first thing this morning.
Looked at it just now, 12 hours later, it's no more than 1 seconds adrift ( hard to tell if it is + or - ).

Mine seems regulated decent ... Did not test on the wrist ... But flat dial Up is about +1-2s a day

Re: FLE 2023 Launch Announcement
I find the consort very comfortable. Like was stated above the links are so small that it is pretty easy to get a good fit. I find it excellent quality.Theartfulbodger wrote: ↑Sat Feb 10, 2024 4:10 pm

I also like it on the Bader too. Makes it a bit more sporty I think.
