Oh, and it looks out of this world on lime green moc croc (for anyone who's searching for a similar look)

I knew as soon as I saw it that this was a leather strap watch. For me anyway

My thoughts exactly, definitely a strap monster!

My main concern about this watch is that it would be too big, 39mm is large for my 6.25” wrist anyway and CW dials are somewhat larger than most brands. It looks great on your wrist, what is your wrist size? Mine’s coming tomorrow, really hope I like the size.

@Theartfulbodger my wrist is 16cm - almost exactly the same as yours. So I'm really hopeful you're going to love the FLE when it arrives :D

I have a good friend who doesn't so much wear a watch as carry on his lower arm something like an identity bracelet with a watch head. He almost has to lock his fingers out to stop it falling off!

So, content with the FLE 2023 on my wrist and happily exploring straps from the dressing-up box one strap/one day at a time I am spending the predicable minutes gazing at the watch.

A little bit at arms length which helps with the watch and strap assessment but much more so, and mostly under a bright reading light at maybe six to ten inches away from my face "reading" the details of the dial especially the tightly concentric rings (which I want to remind me of a liquorice wheel - remember those?) - or of a vinyl record, the central twin flags textured white zone, the twin flags swoosh and the remaining detail including "the red bits".

There is plenty to look at isn't there and way, way better than demonstrated in the renders I believe.

And I got to the point of "where did this design come from?"; oh not in the sense of a fine group of watch experts having inputs and lord only knows what kind of discussions and debates were involved but more a question of how this design came about. I'll go back and re-read the first few pages of this thread together with kip's linked thread but whatever the thinking about possibly a traditional design with CW-specific styling cues I thinkk it's a gem!

I’m a 17.5cm wrist but tend to size to 18cm to allow some slack. Just removed 3cm worth of links, so I don’t know who this consort bracelet is made to fit…..

Mine got as far as Boston, then went back to New York. It was originally scheduled for Monday so maybe DHL didn't want to deliver early. :-k

I will alert CW to the issue (and also remind them that they will need to do these engravings for the Batch 2 watches!).
Steve, thanks for doing that. Beckie was very proactive in reaching out to me, but I was away so the watch didn't go back till this late week. Unfortunately I noticed also there was no paperwork in the box (no warranty card/labelling), the second hand moved when changing the time and the date wheel was out of alignment. Also an issue with the consort bracelet! I'm really pleased I told CW to hold on to the watch for a while longer over Christmas! Good to see they used it for QC! Ahhhh, well. It's fine - I was annoyed at first but as long as it's sorted at the end this will all be forgotten.

Looks like many people have now received theirs. For those that still haven't, you're in for a treat. There is so much to look at in this watch and I don't doubt this cost a lot more to produce than a normal Sealander what with the dial detail (and the ones they had to bin along the way). As we've seen in the other thread too, it's quite the strap monster as well! Actually seeing these photos and writing this is making me excited to get it back all over again!

This is exactly how I described it to colleagues - a vinyl record design around the textured twin flags.

Yep, once again the CW renders didn't show the watch in its best light! Like you, I wonder whether details like the textured white of the dial was a suggestion of CWs or a question from the design team. Need to dig out that thread about the design.
